No the universe won't end for another 2 trillion years or so but yes the soul is timeless so even though time is relative the past 4.5 billion years has gone by relatively fast and yet eternally slow

but this planet was a paradise until Dr. Floyd came and tampered with the genetic code of life on this planet violating the rules we had

I was tricked by kublah khan to drink that stupid potion but I didn't fall into breaking the rules so I am stuck here to try to help humanity but I think you are hopeless and I have given up.

Where do you begin to differentiate the two? Are you saying the Universe is by definition only physical matter?

Well perhaps reality encompasses both the physical and the metaphysical but the term 'Universe' as commonly used generally encompasses only the physical, I would imagine.

That passage from the Law of One material has always bothered me because Taras Bulba is a fictional character AFAIK.

No the metaphorical kublah khan, the big guy in the sky, the dude who makes all the rules, the guy who invented you etc. Dr. Floyd was once one of us but him and Loki broke the rules and tried to make you into our image and now you have all these problems because he could not make you immortal like us as the big guy hardwired it into you that you would not be immortal like us.

Now when the black dwarves appear in abotu 1 trillion years the universe will quickly begin to collapse in another trillion years it will have returned to a single point and then maybe I will be allowed back again for my penance for I did not try to stop them from breaking the rules.

Looks like we'll have to change that hardwiring so we too can eventually become immortal.

The only problem with immortality that I can see is the boredom.  And this can be prevented with selective forgetting.
