eh, tbh i'm ok w/ a day devoted to dinner, gifts, and getting laid to spice up an otherwise cold february day.

Everything is better than it was the last time.  I'm good.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

I just bought my girl something very expensive.
Oops.

We definitely kill each other's brain. I guess that's what they call love.

I read a book called "Predictably Irrational" by a man named Dan Airily which covered some issues related to gift economics and whatnot. Small gifts of which she is not told or reminded the value of but instead perhaps reminded of an intrinsic interpersonal value of the gift will yield the best "results" in happiness. When it comes to the cheque at dinner, bills or other money toilets, she already knows the price, so it leaves the mental arena of gift and enters the arena of money.

The act of gifting is more important than the object being given because it is a social expression that displays your caring for another person.

I agree with you. But sometimes money seems like nothing, a flower and a cachemire dress look like they are the same price.

Plus, telling the price is always a no-no, don't you think?

I think that's what I said Kukaracha.

Icelander, you can dissagree, but I've got the data on my side. Someone (Dan Ariely) even did sociological experiments to test it.

I think that most problems where women expect lavish gifts are more along the line of what a previous poster said bout the dog and feeding scraps.

And I've got personal experience on my side.

Never give a modern woman an inexpensive homemade gift.:nono: You'll be sorry for the rest of the relationship, which may be short.:satansmoking:

Well... I don't have to worry about a relationship of mine being short, this seldom happens and has only ever happened because she wanted to fuck other people for drugs and the social convention of an exclusive relationship would have been limiting to her in this respect.

If you have to buy sex with presents, then your relationship is not dissimilar to that of one with a prostitute.

This is because one of our modern "values" is materalism.  My husband has drawn pictures, made wooden items and stained glass  and written poetry as gifts and I LOVE it!

the Mel Gibson avatar makes things that maybe should have been a bad joke serious. Sorry he has that effect on one liners.
