yeah if that does it on the card itself then it should work.

if it doesnt work then your cpu is probably just too slow. youd just have to upgrade your entire machine.

on the up side, you can get a really nice home theater machine for $300 so its not a huge deal if you need to upgrade.

Doesn't come with any drivers so i hope there not going to be too hard to find on the net. Ive never installed a video card but from what ive read it looks about as easy as upgrading memory.

yeah you wont have any problems.

assuming you are running windows xp 32bit you will want either:

full Catalyst Control Center

or

just the driver

the full CCC includes the driver and also gives you a little more tweaking options if you want them.

hmm... well here is the page:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Legacy/Pages/radeonaiw_xp.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.10〈=English

that should be all you need. might as well just install it now. wont hurt.

when the card comes in just swap it with what you have in there now and you should be good to go.

really easy.

Doesnt have to be, its just the easiest to use.

DVI/HDMI/and component will all play HD 1080p

1080p with COMPONENT??? You're no expert either!

you can get 1080p on component. you just cant get bluray playback because component doesnt support HDCP.

WRONG!

Component video is only capable of 1080i MAXIMUM and handles HDCP via analogue too!

You guys have no clue.

WRONGE!!!

Reproducing a video signal on a display device (for example, a CRT) is a straightforward process complicated by the multitude of signal sources. DVD, VHS, computers and video game consoles all store, process and transmit video signals using different methods, and often each will provide more than one signal option. One way of maintaining signal clarity is by separating the components of a video signal so that they do not interfere with each other. A signal separated in this way is called "component video". S-Video, RGB and YPbPr signals comprise two or more separate signals: hence, all are component-video signals. For most consumer-level applications, analog component video is used. Digital component video is slowly becoming popular in both computer and home-theatre applications. Component video is capable of carrying signals such as 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p, and new high definition TVs support the use of component video up to their native resolution.

yeah man cite your shit or STFU.

1080p is not a defined standard but it is absolutely possible.
Source: http://is.gd/87Pkk

watching a bluray over component will downscale to 720p because HDCP is not possible over an analog connection.

Exactly Not like i can tell the difference from 1080p and 1080i. I dont even see the diff between 720p and 1080p. What i do see a bit of difference in is the Hertz.

Nice choice FastFire!

I have a ATi card too, and I love them....That Ati Radeon X1650 Pro is pretty powerful for the AGP class. And $40! What a deal....

I got a ATi Radeon 4850 512MB w/ PCI-Express interface, and it does great for my HD games (Crysis), but there still is some page-ripping, but that game is crazy intense for video cards. I wish I had a dual PCI-express so I could run 2 cards....that would be the ultimate.

Anyway, enjoy your new card. Don't forget to download Winamp (free) and play with the HD "Milkdrop" visualizer program when you are tripping ballz on Mushrooms. Its trippy dude....:mushroom2::eek::mushroom2:

EDit:
Does your TV only have component as its highest quality input? If so, you're going to have to settle for 1080p like frith said, which is not as good as 1080i, but hey, who can tell the difference between the two? I sure can't....

i think it depends on the display. on my 60" i can def see the difference between 720p and 1080p.

on my 23" Apple cinema display it doesnt make a difference.
