they seem to do well with below average running backs. their system allows for them to plug in whomever, ala shanahan's broncos this past decade.

lt on the saints would be sick. they'd pick up another superbowl meanwhile turner, rivers, and sproles continue to lose out in the playoffs.

If I were you, I wouldn't want him. His pass catching abilities make him a slower, less explosive Bush, and he's proven that his age and career carries have taken a toll on him. He looks like a money pit to me. I hope he proves me wrong, though. I love watching him when he's playing well.

I would worry more about locking up your current free agents.

I agree. All those hits do take their toll. The productivity bell curve of today's running backs seems to peak at about 30 years old. Deuce McAllister anyone? LDT would turn 31 by next season. He has been a great back but his best days are behind him as injuries mount. Let someone else overpay for him.

They have plenty of firepower on offense. Help is needed on defense.

The Saints don't need to sign legends, they need to MAKE legends.

It doesn't really make sense. They have three backs, but I think they are going to lose reggie bush to the seahawks.

The Saints definitely do not need LT, he would only slow them down ironically enough. I think Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas are both a great fit for that organization. I could care less about R. Bush but Thomas can put some fucking moves on man.

On the subject of running backs, I wonder if Dallas will try and move Marion Barber

I think Felix has proven he is ready to carry more of the load and Tashard Choice has got touches as well

the saints dont need bush, especially not for 8 mil.

but its an uncapped year next season and im sure the saints made a lot of money this year.

but if i were bush, i would head to some sorry ass team to get more touches and not just be in the shadows of other players.

he already got a ring, now he can go out for himself.

thomas is just as good as reggie, maybe not as fast, but unlike reggie, he can break tackles and not run backwards.

i still dont understand why people act like the saints cant do it again next year. I have never seen so much myopic speculation.

Pierre Thomas is phenomenal and he's not going anywhere. The idea of a Brees/LT reunion is cute, but that's about it -- it just doesn't make sense.

As for Reggie... I'm still a fan but I gotta admit I expected a little more from him in the Super Bowl, however I think it was reeeeeeally stupid and dick not to put him in at the goal line, at least as a fucking decoy! Then again, I'm not sleeping with the Lombardi trophy. I guess Payton must have had a reason but damned if I know what it was.

I won't go into whether or not Reggie has lived up to his billing. But to those who think he hasn't, that he will never have a breakout season and we should get rid of him ASAP and we won't regret it, well...

I dunno. Maybe that's another Saints jinx that has been broken, you know, guys like Jim Mora and Ricky Williams cut from the team and immediately becoming MVPs. But it gives me pause. :tongue2:

Especially because they're just now admitting the obvious about Reggie, which is that he's an NFL receiver.

Well if he goes into free agency, since the Saints are one of the last four playoff teams, the only way we could get him (if I understand correctly) is if we also give up someone of equal or greater value...? I don't really know all the rules of the NFL trading and drafting etc....
