The world in 2028

I say that it will not change as much as many of you probably expect. One thing is sure though - if it changes it will be for the worst (obviously).

I think that medicine will develop rapidly in the next 20 years and this will be one of the most prosperous fields (along with related areas like biology).

However it doesn't look good in my prognosis. The USSR will reform and the US will disintegrate. Some fat russian general will be so drunk that he will accidentally launch a nuclear missile which will in turn lead to mutual assured destruction (ca 2026)

We will all die either from nuclear explosion blasts, severe direct irradiation or cancer. Probably Australia will get away with it.

Due to the global warming many coastal cities will be flooded. But fuck them...i dont give a shit :megacrankey: Also as a result of global warming the habitat of many insect viral vectors will expand and as a result of antigenic shift and other mutations new diseases will emerge. There will be mosquito-born AIDS and flu-cancer hybrid germ.

At least pot will be finally de-criminalized and legalized.

Im hoping we can get rid of the root of all evil which is money. And instead work for the betterment and advancement of the human race. Fear and money is what keeps us apart. We shouldn't be technologically racing eachother we should be working together. We would have the flying cars we were promised by 2000 haha

My diagnosis is you are a pessimist.  My prediction for humanity in 2028?  Augmented reality is mainstream.  First machine intelligences are approaching rapidly. Thousands of Earth like planets have been discovered.  Humans have gone back to the moon and landed on Mars.  Life expectancy is nearing a rise of one year per year.  Obesity is a thing of the past.

And the Shroomery will be 30.

There are already available medications which block a significant amount of fats from being absorbed into your body.  In twenty years I can only see them being more effective.  Not to mention self replicating medicinal nanobots will likely be available in such a time frame.

I like free markets and all. Truly I do, at least in general, but there needs to be some kind of oversight in recognition of sustainability. Life works the same way, on a bunch of sustainable systems. Why not honor what made us what we are and take some lessons? Nature FTW!

All you people saying nothing will change don't seem to realize the science behind what is happening. Galactic alignment. All the gravitational pull from neighboring bodies of everything in our solar system will be placed directly on two opposite sides. We are going to see more solar activity in 2012 than has ever been recorded in history. Nasa projects this will knock out our power grids and cause weather patterns to freak out.

My own personal theory: we have day and night, winter and summer, is it so hard to believe that there is something similar on a larger scale? perhaps a "day and night" of the psyche? perhaps 2012 is a transition point.
