Gomi to the UFC, fights Florian.

Yeah he's a has been, he's been dissappointing at times.

But I still think this is an exciting acquisition, because i think he has the potential to get back on the right track.

When he was considered the best, it was for good reason. He was prevailing against alot of strong competition.

Everyone knows how his career declined. And that happens to lots of fighters.

But fighters also make comebacks, especially those deemed with natural talent.

I think Gomi can be one of those fighters again. Either way it makes things interesting.

With that being said, Kenny Florian is the worst possible matchup for Gomi. The absolute worst stylistic matchup. Kenny is aggressive in the standup, he's fast, he's conditioned. I dont think he can take down Gomi but Kenny is far better on the ground as well.

Not a good fight for Gomi.

Well he's fought BJ Penn (and lost) and Jens Pulver, so the UFC will be able to hype that up pretty well before the match-up. Probably just another booster fight for Florian though.

Would be a good match up if Gomi was in his prime. Right now, I think Florian picks apart Gomi with technical striking. However, Gomi could easily change the fight at any time with 1 punch, and I think he has as good of a punchers chance as anyone else.

What I want to see: Gomi by 3rd round KO/TKO

What we will see: Florian by Unanimous Decision.
