Learning violin

#11851188 - 01/18/10 05:12 AM (16 years, 8 months ago)

I know nothing of playing music, basically I'm starting completely from zero. I'm 21 and I decided I want to learn an instrument I want to be able to play classic acoustic violin and electric violin to make more of a guitar like sound.

What should someone like me do when I have no musical knowledge at all, should I get lessons before I start trying to play on my own so I'm not used to playing with bad form and picking up bad habits.

It might be a few months before I can get formal lessons is there anything I can read that will save time during lessons?

I started learning violin when I was 6 or 7. I wish I stuck with it, it really is an amazing instrument.

I can't really help with any information, but best of luck!
