    #11734288 -

These are from western washington. the name of these shrooms starts with an m? but i'm not entirely sure. the pictures aren't the best quality, but it was the best i could do. these have been dried.

Gills: mostly white/cream colored, some light brown/almost yellow areas

Stem: white with vertical parallel grooves, wider than it is thick

Cap: dark brown in the middle, rest of the body is light brown, khaki with some white spots.

might be a pantherina or something, definitely not something you want to ingest either way. was the M word Muscaria? and until you get some decent pix with a digital camera using macro mode, I wouldn't say they are anything in particular.  did someone sell you these as psychedelic shrooms?

Yeah most likely Amanita pantherina or something close, pretty hard to Identify dry mushrooms.

They might be an Amanita species, though I would definitely not call them A. pantherina, not in this condition and with these photos.

And good job scaring the girls away Mycohunter and Trigger.

Just don't eat them.  We probably can not identify them to species now that they are dried, and the genus Amanita contains species which are deadly poisonous.

Its hard to ID dried mushrooms from pictures, but they might be in the genus Amanita.  The brownish gills in pic # 3 make me wonder about that though.

dried Amanita Amerimuscaria IMO. I have seen the yellowing of the gills in older dried specimin. I am not a trusted IDer and my opinion should not be taken as an acurate ID. The mushrooms you have there look like they where not cleaned or dried well along with maybe being over mature. They may contain other toxins from bacteria, besides the toxins already know to Amanta. They may potentialy get you sick even if they where active or edible.

I agree on the possible amanita ID, and i strongly agree that they should not be eaten. If you feel tempted to try them i think youre better off buying some amanita off the internets. Those look like they weren't treated all that well post harvest anyway.

Can't say Amanita Muscaria seeing alot of Amanita's have yellow gills like Amanita subsolitaria, Amanita Frostiana and Amanita flavoconia. I'd say forget about the dried mushrooms and chuck em.
