How do you know? My dog doesn't speak English, for we know animals understood Einstein's theory of relativity for millions of years! I think animals are quite possibly SMARTER than humans, and for that very reason decided NOT to build cities and gobble up resources like hell...

we, as humans, were not imagining aliens as we do now 100 years ago, let alone back when we were apes. largely in part due to our current speculations being largely based on our own culture (i.e. we assume they're human shaped, that they even have such a thing as "government" or "culture" (both human constructs), and that they came up with the same type of physics we did/are at the same level of physics as we are (i.e. are bound to slower-than-lightspeed travel).


it was only but a hundred years ago man was contemplating the existence of life on the MOON.

there is one soul. multiple perceptions.

I think niteowl was missing my point. I was saying that animals would not perceive such things the way humans do, on the basis that the way humans perceive these things is based on human culture, human technology, human perception/way of life/understandings.

the main point I was trying to get at, was that whatever is out there that is beyond the "human realm" is not comprehensible at this point, so we shouldn't assume that beings from another planet use "radio waves", or that they know earthly basic mathematics and whatnot.

we're beginning to confuse subjectivity with objectivity, and it will eventually lead to our downfall.
