You play to win the game Super Bowl. It may not work out for them but the analysts on ESPN need to calm the fuck down. There are some legitimate reasons for taking out the starters:

1) They might get hurt

2) The back-up guys need playing time

3) Losing the game makes for less 'Dolphin' distractions

4) The ONLY goal is the Super Bowl

I can understand the reasons against it as well but it will boil down to ring or no ring.

dude i've already told you before


i dont hate the saints.  I've followed drew brees since Purdue.  I watched the Saints during the Ditka Era.  I remember the one game they beat the cowboys with Jake Delhomme.  I rooted for Kyle Turley when he went buck wild against the Jets.



i just hate overzealous fans who think they've already won the super bowl based on regular season laurels.

The reason I've against it (outside of the perfect season argument) is that the Colts have always rested at the end of the season and how often has it worked for them? They already have a first round bye; why rest them for another two weeks?

I don't think they had it (home field) wrapped.  If they lost out and SD won out, SD would have had the tiebreaker with a better conference record.

Yeah I know, I was still a little peeved yesterday.

Saints fans are disappointing me, one guy called into WWL and said you could hear a pin drop in there, Hokie said that they were justly disappointed but I say fuck that noise. I guess I was spoiled by watching college games but there are just too many fairweather fans. You cheer when our guys are on offense, you scream and stomp when they're on defense, you don't pick and choose and you DEFINITELY don't say shit like "down in front" when we're trailing and you're sitting on your lazy ass eating nachos.

Somebody needs to educate these people...

Well the Saints (and any team for that matter) have to EARN my cheers and praise.

Now, I am always a Saints fan.  I have always gone to games when I could, and ALWAYS watch games no matter how good or bad they are doing.  But if they are doing bad, because I am a big fan, I think I may berate and just generally talk shit about them more than some other people, but its mainly because I am upset that they are doing poorly.

I'm no less of a fan no matter how they do, but if they continue to play like shit, they deserve nothing better than quiet fans and mean sports writing.

in short: EARN IT MOTHERFUCKERS

Yeah, they have earned a lot by winning 13 games this season, and that is why the dome was sold out the whole year (and will be in the playoffs too if we play there), but you don't get cheers for playing like shit.

listen, the saints really shouldnt be all that worried, imo.


from what i've seen all season, they've shown to have well roundedness, and as cortez said, the talent is really spread out with the team.


Even in that loss to the Bucs, you always have overachieving teams becoming complacent.  Which is kind of the impression i got watching the game, i.e. coming out with a huge lead, losing by a field goal...



but as i said before, the Saints defense....they've impressed me time and time again.


I think with home field advantage, and that time off between their first play off game, they'll be good to go.


I still see a powerhouse of a team.
