I've used a kitty litter tray, cost a couple of bucks and boy was it big.. if there was only one problem I had with it, it was that it was so damn huge!, I put a 5 liter bag of vermiculite in it just to case some cakes and fill the tray.. Makes for an expensive sized terrarium.

But then again, my one is hardly the only size of tray. I agree though, they are idea in every way.

aluminum baking pans. get them at least 3" deep. good idea though. one thing ive noticed with aluminum foil is that the light reflection cases the shrooms to grow weird sometimes.

Aluminum foil pans worked well for me as well. You can just put the whole thing in the oven to sterilize the bottom layer.

I like black plastic planting trays. They're about a dollar a piece with an area of about 1.3 square feet. Cheap and easy to clean. You can get them at any lawn & garden place, even K-mart or Walmart. I'm 99% sure that Home Depot has them too:-)

the cat pans myc. 5150 referrs to measure ~ 9"x14"x4" deep and can be found at walmart for about 1.89 ea. and yes...they are the best...no side pinning...and totally reusable
