a fungus poem; Our Comfortable Lifestyle

I hope this is the correct place to post your own work.

Its not the best thing I've ever written, but I thought that this would be the only place where the poem could be appreciated.  If its well received, maybe I'll post some of my better, more universally applicable work.


our comfortable lifestyle

one time while mixing a batch of substrate
I added extra rice flower
ground lovingly
that the mushrooms may grow larger, more plentiful
so they would grow healthier and have all the nutrition they needed
but what it did
was make them curl
deform
overgrow themselves
sickly batches.
as the mycelium ate away
the substance it occupied
the drama of the slow death march
amplified
they choked.

i hope its noticed that this poem really isnt about mushrooms at all.
