I've been Screwed

The end of my cork screw snapped off, so now I'm stuck with the screw sticking out of the cork, this is really frustrating. I've been trying to hit it down with a hammer but it doesn't seem to be budging. Arghhhhh. :sad:

You need to screw the other end into another piece of wood, or use pliers.

That's happened to me before.  I used a screwdriver and a hammer to bash the cork inside the bottle... The glass of wine was filled with tiny floating pieces of cork pulp.  I ended up pouring my glass into another glass through a sieve over a funnel xD

Right, I'll try pliers but it's one of those plastic corks so I don't know if I'll be strong enough. Curse this feeble female anatomy.

I've tried the hammer and screwdriver method and it doesn't seem to be working - these plastic corks are always really tight.

I think you were supposed to pull the cork out by holding the screw with the pliers.

You grip the chunk of metal sticking out of the cork with the pliers (below the spiral, so it actually stays gripped) and then pull.  If you have it screwed in too far, just grip it with the pliers sideways on the flat top part that goes into the winekey and turn until you have some of the corkscrew out.  If it broke at the cork, you can try to grip it with needlenose and twist it out as best you can.
