Yeah, I would just push the cork into the bottle.. If you're a big enough snob, you'd complain about the cork taste, but seriously? Can you REALLY taste it? Just eat more cheese..
The compressor idea is horrible. Its probably dangerous, its probably really going to make a tremendous mess. The other thing is that the compressor has been sucking in NASTY stuff its whole life. Paint fumes, dust, etc..
Seems like after that much effort, you may just consider going and buying a damn cork-screw at the grocery or liquor store.. .

Oh yeah! That one was about opening a bottle with a shoe. I watched it until he was like "And you need a bottle of wine" and then cut to that girl holding it. I was like "Yep, nope."
I'm amazingly impatient and judgmental when it comes to videos (and music, and tv...basically anything that's entertainment) and if I get irritated with it within the first ten seconds, I refuse to give my attention to it. I don't have that much attention to go around I know I end up missing out on a lot of good stuff that way, but hey.

I understand completely, poor wine choices are a complete turnoff

In that case, let us know how it turns out! Post pics, or it didn't happen! I'd regulate down below 10 or 15 though. My compressor can push 125, and as you may very well know, 125 can hurt you. Easily.

Last time I tried to open a bottle without a corkscrew, I had little bits of cork in my wine. It was ruined.

I was in this situation the other night. There was probably a better way to do it but I just broke the bottle then filtered out the glass. I probably wouldn't have done that if I wasn't drunk as shit.

I have a bottle opener which operates just like a large syringe, it works great. Though you are right, this is pretty heavy duty and has a proper hand grip to get real pressure. Great for opening older bottles with fragile corks.
My friend showed me how to open a bottle of wine with a tree. You just smack the bottom against a trunk with thick bark until pressure builds and the cork begins to pop out, then pull with teeth or hands. Obviously the risk of smashing is fairly high so care is needed, but good in an emergency, done it a few times and haven't broken one yet.
