probably not. unless the temp goes above the mid 80s the heat will only help. it would be better if it was a stable 84-86 though. slow growth could be due to many other things: water content, small amount of innoculum, stalling due to bacteria, etc, etc.

doubt that temp. fluxuations are the cause,
some of my best crops are grown in a storage shed that has no heating or cooling.

I would sugjest a different set up, and incubate in total darkness, it will give you better overall yealds and more prolific first and second flushes

VTS, thats why I've got the Cardboard over the hole.......to keep light out. Thanks though. I was just showing what it looked like inside, so I guess it was exposed to 11 seconds of indirect light, which I don't think will hurt it.
