Melanoleuca strictipes? ... 8)

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Central Europe Woods. What does it grow on? Rotting mixture of hay, leafs and branches.

Gills:
Cream white, gills finely spaced and attached to stem.

Stem:
Length 1.5", diameter 1/2", white, fibrous, solid, thick.

Cap:
Diameter 5", grey, smooth, spherical, slightly concave. Cap-skin can be peeled off and older ones have curled-up edges.

Spore print color:
White.

Bruising:
No bruising.

Other information:
Found this large group of them in the nearby woods. If these are edible then i'm in for a feast! There's probably 3 kilo's of'em...:smile: Smells like mushroom but not too strong.

Maybe Lactarius vietus, does it exude any milk when you cut the gills?
Taste should be bitter.

Did some searching, possible candidates include:

Melanoleuca strictipes
Melanoleuca subalpina


I'll definitely try to get more and better pictures tomorrow!

I've been finding these too lately and I'm satisfied with calling them clitocybes :shrug:
