I don't understand it.  Its cruel.

If an animal does not want to be in your family room, you got no right to keep it there.

We allowed our birds to fly indoors.

Whether they are sad they are inside a room and not outside, I'm not sure... possibly... but anytime our bird wanted to fly he would go from room to room/person to person no problem.

Flight was a method of movement, once he got to his destination he would just chill. When presented with opportunities to fly away, he never did.

I don't.

Why would I want to keep a bird?  A bird is not mine to own.

Who needs birds when you've got that awesome high horse to ride around on.

10000-12000 years isnt much time in the evolutionary scale and most of
that was following the humans to scavenge on killes from hunters, it was
100k years ago that they split from wolves and believe it or not,
there's a bunch of birds that will return home if they're let loose, I
had a friend with a cockatoo that he let out all the time and lets not
forget homing pigeons, they seem to like living in cages
