Failed pre-employment urine test

Im pretty down right now, as I was looking forward to this opportunity.

The testing facility just called me stating that my sample was positive for THC.
I played dumb, but I know this means that my employer probably wont bother to contact me.

I stopped smoking for 3 days beforehand, began drinking nothing but water for these 3 days. Picked up an Extra Strength Omni drink for its flushing/masking abilities. The day of the test, I flooded with water, drank the Omni, pissed 5 times and went and took the test.

The steps listed above used to be listed on Omni drinks until the govt. told them to remove it. I have used Omni 5-6 times over the last several years, and never had a problem.

This time I did, and it just cost me a job.

I almost wish I was a fall down alcoholic because this lifestyle seems to be acceptable, but god forbid someone partakes in a few tokes instead of a glass of scotch every night to unwind.

Im also in a state where its been decriminalized, however I dont think it matters one bit.

Unless it's legalized in that state it doesn't matter.  These drug laws are fucking lame.  What does it matter what you Do in your private life?  It's like Okay, I can drink, I just can't show up drunk, why not the same for other things?  I can do what I want on my own time, I just can't show up affected by it at work.

Fuck drug tests.

this has always pissed me off..Just because someone decides to use a substance does not mean they are bad workers..

there will always be the shitty ones though regardless of drugs or not..hell i have co workers that use hard drugs and they are better workers than the alcys i work with.

tryin...but its hard. I have a family I need to support.
Been out of work since August, the contract I was on with my consulting firm ran out and there was no place to put me for 40 hrs a week.

Running out of money and havent had many bits from the job sites.

Damn man, Im really down.
I dont know what Im gonna say to my better half.

Just call the employer up and tell him a bended truth. Tell him a month ago you ended smoking for the first time to see what it was like. Be honest and if you follow up you may get the job. Who knows.

Nobody to blame but yourself. I've had to stop completely for job employment twice; it doesn't kill you.

Stop doing drugs at the moment, get your priorities straight.

Start working out and eating right and drinking water so you can hopefully flush your system as fast as possible so you can get a job.

Just keep on going, I know times can be tough but you just have to get through the hard times to get to the better ones. :heart:

Good luck on finding a job, I know it can be hard but just start applying if you really need money. Cheers man.

I never knew smoking weed was considering having your 'priorities not straight'.  Seriously, you shouldn't have to quit smoking weed to get a job.  Drug tests should be implemented upon injury, not to get hired.

yea bro, that sucks.
i had a decent opportunity offered to me a few years back. even back then i was a wicked burnout. i bought the detox drink from GNC for $60 and followed the directions to a T, which were basically don't smoke for 72 hours previous to the test and then drink the solution, followed by two glasses of water.
well, i failed the test. the bottle said "money back guarentee" so i sent in my upc label and recipt. well, the fuckers only sent me a check for $25 and after calling them complaining, they told me that they only refund the "suggested msrp". needless to say, i was pissed.

fastforward about 6 years, my drug test for my current job. again, i had short notice to detox, so i went to the local head shop and bought for $30 another detox elixer. again i followed the directions to a T, but this time i passed with flying colors.

i really have no idea what the differance between the two

I wasnt referring to the positive responses.
I also dont think I fucked up. The only thing thats fucked is the world we all live in.

On another note; wtf?!?  Since when do 5th graders have geometry and simplification of fractions? I didnt do that shit till I was in 7th grade.
