I have logged in this once so that I can set the "last seen" feature up.  let the faggots flow forth into OTD and have it.  Its funny how they all grew nuts after I left.  I'm not here, I'm not reading, but I urge you all to keep melting down over me.  I know, I hurt alot of people, and they deserved it.  epic win for me, epic fail for you.

In every game except when Lee pitches the Yankees have an advantage.  When Lee pitches against CC it's a toss up.  The Yanks drew tails last night.  How about the Captain going 3/4?  Not too shabby.

Hamels is still better than Andy P. He's basically the same pitcher he was last year, his numbers are skewed by poor luck. The Yankee's biggest advantage is their offense, the best in the game by a ridiculous margin.

His numbers are skewed by him getting used to the tune of 260+ innings last year.  Unless that's what you mean by luck.

His K/9, BB/9, and velocity are virtually identical to last year. His fielding independent ERA is the exact same. Maybe Hamel's isn't as good as last year, but he's still a lot better than Pedro right now. I'd start Blanton and Happ before Pedro.

you're a moron if you think the yankees biggest "advantage" is on offense.
the phils offense is not something to underestimate.
they can hit for power and have the speed to get guys in scoring position.
the only place on the roster where there is a CLEAR advantage is the back end of the bullpen.
but you have to get there for that to come into play.
these teams are AL and NL versions of each other

Regardless, those haven't exactly expressed themselves in wins, have they?  I agree he's a better choice than Pedro but I definitely don't think he's better than Pettitte.

I can't figure the Happ allergy, either.  Although I do put a lot into, say, the last month, sometimes you just gotta dance with the girl you brung.  But Charlie has a lot more info than we do.

You're just flat out wrong. The Yankees offense was a ton better than the Phillie's (and every other team). It is their biggest advantage. The Phillie's can hit, but the Yanks can flat out rake.

Jumping in late, but the Phillies have this hands down. The Yankees looked so confused. They expected to just cruise through it, all cocky like they always are. And Shocker, they got OWNED.

Lucky me I got tix for Game 5 in philly! :smile: I'll get to see the Phillies take the series. haha

Sure the Yankees have had great stats during the year
the phils by no means had bad stats
Offense is strength VS strength match up
so to say that is there biggest advantage is stupid
especially when you consider what matters most is who is hitting well right now
both have played 10 post season games thus far
the phils have scored more runs, hit more homers, more total bases, better OBP Slugging % and better BAvg

the is the post season you don't get credit for shit you did during the regular season

If the Yankees offense isn't their biggest asset, then what is? The 3 man rotation is alright, the bullpen is average, and they play horrible defense. Their offense, however, was the best in the game by a huge margin. The best way for them to win is to out hit the Phillies. They got to the playoffs because they hit the cover off of the ball, and they're going to have to hit the cover off of the ball to win.

Why don't you explain to us all where the Phillies have a pitching edge when Lee isn't on the mound.

The Phillies are in no way to be taken lightly, unlike the previous NL oppponent.

asset and advantage are two completely different things.
i wouldn't argue that the yankees biggest asset is their offense.
but the same is to be said about the phillies
the margin between those offenses is negligible
when compared the margin between the back ends(8th+9th inning) of the respective bullpen
an area where the yankees are strong, and consistent
and the phillies are relatively weak and inconsistent
that is the yankees biggest advantage

If Cliff Lee wasn't on the Phillies we would have a definite 4 game shutout. But luckily one of the pitchers in the bull pen is amazing, and he happens to be the starter :awesome:
