damnit, now i have a fever what gives...

this shit sucks, i just get back from the damn doctor a week ago with a clean bill of health and this morning i wake up with back spazims that last for over an hour and have a 100 some degree fever.

i demand health!

for now i doing the tv soup orange juice and vitamins thing

any other recomendations for a speedy recovery?

everyone around here seems to get this thing and they are saying it ilasts for about 3 weeks!

oh man i forgot im itchin like a mad man, hope i didnt get the chicken pox... or worse! i had the chicken pox while i was a kid but only got them mildly its possible i have them again.

i mean i just brush up against somthing then i rub it then i itch it, and theres no relief unless i keep itching!

I recommend catnip tea.Find a recipe on the internet that sounds good to you.(Its going to require a bit of sugar most likely)And see if it helps.Catnip promotes sweating to help break fevers,it helps relax the body and promotes rest and sleep and it also soothes nausea should you find yourself nauseated.I use it when I have colds or flu or when others do and it always makes me feel better and get over it faster.

There are many recipes for catnip tea.A basic recipe is one ounce catnip to 16 ounces of water just like making loose tea.(IE Boil the herbs in water and either filter them out or use one of those metal tea balls(or multiple depending on size) to put the loose herbs into.Boil for 10 minutes and drink freely (as much as your stomach allows if its upset IE sip it slowly if your stomach is upset).

An easy source of catnip is the grocery store.Theres an organic brand that people Ive known have used.Its called cosmic catnip and its organic and safe to use.Although its usually about $2 an ounce.Often catnip can be ordered for about 5 dollars a pound bulk from companies also.I buy mine in bulk from herbal companies.

yeah sounds like a plan. my fever went up from 99.8 to 101.4 in a matter of hours last night before i passed out. its back down to 100 somthing now that im awake...

damn i hate being sick

Dude, everyone is sick! Vitamin b12 will help your recovery process, but you have such random symptoms! I'd also recommend some Echinacea tea, it really does the trick! My man and I drink it with our stir fry, and we are the only ones out of our friends who aren't sick! If you can't find it at your local organic/grocery store, you can order it at  Traditional Medicinals , which is a most cool site.

Or you can just eat ice-cream, but I'd recommend the tea :wink:

What the last poster said. You can also try zinc lozenges which have been proven to reduce cold/flu durations by one half if taken early. Tamiflu also reduces the length and severity of the flu, but once again you must take it at the first sign of symptoms.

Other than that, drink plenty of (non alcoholic) fluids, get plently of rest and ride it out. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

flu went away today, fever went down to 98.0 ( i usuallt have a low temp)
still kinda spacey with a sore larynx ( i cant seem to spell throught) but much better, just red the sirens of titan by vonegut and im goingn to go and play some holdem.

oddly wnough my eyes hurt when i look too far to the side without turning my head...

Sounds like you had a good case of the flu. The itching is probably from the fever. You just have to let it run it's course. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. Be careful not to get a relapse.

Ive been sick all day yesterday and today. I dont have any nausea but i know i have a fever. I feel real dizzy alot to the point that i feel delusional. my body aches and i have the chills on and off. Iam taking ibprofen to help reduce the fever. but no sooner does it kick in it seems to go away. any tips on anything i can do to make all these symptoms go away. My Fiance and I want to go to a Pretty Lights Concert in Madison tomorrow. But if im not feelin good im gonna have to pass it up.
