Joy Division
    #11273932 -

Anyone like them? Any thoughts?

Very good marijuana music. It's so slow and dreamy, it really seems like the perfect stoned music for me. Very sad, but very powerful and melodic.
Anybody have any opinions?

Not my kind of music. It's too bland and monotonous to be listened to whilst being stoned, IMO.

I remember when they came out.I like them.Bauhaus was good also. The joy division was a known name for areas in concentration camps (2nd W.W.) where (female) prisoners offered their services to the (German) guards.

That's not true, The Joy Division was part of the SS, their job was to rape and breed with racially pure women.

Where the hell did you hear that though? And remembering when they came out? Were you in Manchester in the late 70's?

I like Ian Curtis' sick dance moves
Skip to about 2:15 to avoid listening to the whole song but seeing him cut a rug.

No, I don't like Joy Division.

I was looking at urban dictionary and got the info.I knew it had something to do with Nazi's and sex.I just could not remember.

I am 44 so I remember when they came out.I was listening to all the "new wave" music that no one else was in the late 70's early 80's.

Speaking of his sick dance moves, I love to pull of his running in place one.

I wish I was your age rex, things don't seem so gay back then.

The run in place Ian Curtis is only successful if you have that strange look in your face when you do it.

MDMA was pure and cheap (got it for 3-6 bucks a hit)ALWAYS damn good, sometimes free. They used to tell you not to take a whole one or no more than 2.It must have been 120-160mg in each.*SIGH*

I lived in the  DFW area. The night my friends and I were going to the Starck club in the early eighties, something else came up.It got raided that night and the scene was dead after that,MDMA became illegal that year.If you look up the history of the spread of it,it was a doc in Dallas that did a lot of Tim Leary type work with it,thereby rendering it illegal. It used to be sold in the bars I heard, that is why we were going.I tried it twice before it became illegal.I still love it as the best drug for me EVER!

sounds fucking great. MDMA is also my favorite drug.

I'm glad I grew up in Texas, I'm from the 210. Never leaving, I love this city.

That last paragraph in your post reminds me of Doug Stanhoup, spelling. "I had fun 20 years ago"

my ex girlfriend banged him.

I've tried to like them for the sake of enjoying the same music as my buddies, but it just isn't happening.

yeah I find this interesting. People I know tend to either love or hate Joy Division. Most of my friends don't like it, but some do. I think their style is very unique, so there's little lapping over of people who do/don't like them.

What I said about Joy Division also applies to Morrissey.  Just can't get into it.

I noticed tyrannicalrex posted the Clash.  Now that.  Is a band that I am into.
