The contract was between you and the kid not his mother, as long as you have the paperwork and logs of discussion with the kid, then you can reasonably deny any claim the parent has made regardless of method of payment. Do not refund them.

Paypal automatically removes the money from your account the moment a dispute is filed.

If there is not enough in your paypal account they will immediately withdraw it from your bank without asking.

Apparently you agree to this when signing up to paypal.

They didnt do that to me.

Not immediately at least, I changed my bank account number very soon after the dispute.

well my paypal balance is already -531$ when it used to be 500$ available balance. but they ask how i want to resolve this either by refunding the exact amount the mother asked for (it's under the mom's credit card and paypal name), refund stating a different amount, or deny refund and still keep contact with the buyer. so far no funds have been removed from my bank account...

Deny the refund and file a claim yourself.

Ahhh, so you had that money in your paypal account sitting there?  Then there is a good chance you are screwed and will lose your money and not get your item back.  I like to withdraw PayPal funds ASAP so they dont hold them hostage.

You have email copies right?  Do they support your case?

the kid also wanted a refund before i sent it, and after he bought it just because i was slow in getting back to him. can this be evidence that maybe they just didn't wnat the item anymore, so they filed a false claim?

Did you have a confirmed paypal address as well as verified? Maybe that confirmation is how they get access to the bank.

Yup, right with ya, and that's a common misconception. It was a decision made back in the day when I was an ebay n00b. Felt right at the time, made selling easier in that I wasnt educated on international shipping, customs, prices and coverage for the valubles that were being sold.

In 250 transactions, Ive had 1 problem. I attribute it to being very careful about who I sell to. IE, no new accounts, not more than 2 neg's in 6 months, usa residents only etc..

Maybe Ive just been lucky, but I still feel bad when I hear things like this, because it always seems as if the seller gets the shit-end of the stick.

well i managed to put 500$ in my account and had to wait another month to deposit the other half since my limit is set at 500$/month...

this is the message i sent stating how it would be sent used as opposed to new and he said thanks...

"sent it today. i saved you around 40$ or so the girl said, she changed it from item description NEW to USED and told me it would've been a lot more if i had kept it as NEW on the shipping form. but don't worry it is NEW and has not been used, only turned on to verify it works as someone bought it off ebay from a vendor for me. it was also 5$ cheaper for the shipping because their computers were down, so you can just send 30$ to unsui@hush.com instead of 40$ since i lagged on you. tracking # = EH361621973US"

so i'm going to get fucked and not even get my item back now? why is this? the buyer offered to send the item back if i pay for the expenses and to refund 1120$...

that sounds hopeful. i'd definitely put that in your paypal claim.

i feel for you man as i've lost over $1000 due to stolen credit cards on ebay. paypal blows.

you are not going to lose both...

just because paypal has a hold on your funds dont mean the buyer has it.  the money is on hold by paypal unti the dispute is settled.

paypal has theiur side of the story, not you need to tell them your side.

if it so happens that you do have to refund the money, demand that the refund be conditional upon you receiving the item.

you are going to either get your money back or the item, call paypal..

oh well dude, if she will return (and i mean, you're really sure that she will send it back) then i'd definitely give her a refund and then just resell it. i would not risk a battle with paypal because 99% of the time they favor the buyers over the sellers, and you're likely to get screwed.

FUCK PAYPAL RIGHT IN THE ASS

No seller protection rights
Unless you have documented proof contrary to her claims, you are fucked.

Fuck Paypal
