Slowed growth after shaking

ok so im growing cambo in a madseason bag. i had nice healthy white mycelium all up one side of the bag so i decided to shake the bag. the mycelium broke into 2 chunks. i just shook it a little and one of the chunks ended up with a little bit poking out the top of the substrate and the other chunk ended up somewhere in the middle. a week has gone by and while the chunk on top sticking out seems to have recovered (its fluffly white) and one or 2 other little pieces of new mycelium are visible there is little to no growth rate. i dont know if the mycelium is growing inward or not at all or what. should i reshake the bag? iv read that can kickstart it. should i just leave it be and cross my fingers?

Using jars, I make sure to bust up my myc into many many parts. I would imagine that the same would be true for bags as well. The more homogeneous the mixture between colonized/uncolonized should give you the best performance.

If the piece in the middle isn't visible, it may well be taking some time before moving to the outside. How long between shake to now has it been?

i have been doing this in 1/2 gal jars and have run into a o2 problem i am enlarging the Tyvek covered holes now and was thinking your problem might be the same. dun know need more info.

my holes are either 1 5/8 inch hole or 3 3/8 inch holes..

im starting to like the 3 hole thing better because its easier to inoc

after shaking it will take a day ot 2 for the MYC to recover then it will explode.

Once you shake, the mycelium should take about 24 hours to recover.  I am guessing that you have a spawn bag?

You might want to keep an eye out for bacteria or other contams.  Unfortunately that is what it sounds like.  I hope that I am wrong.  Good luck.

its good to shake at 20 -30% percent colonized...any lower and the mycelium get traumiatized and wont or slowly grow back...

ya its a bag. and its been a week since i shook it and i shook it at like 10%. fuck my first bag contaminated my second bag didnt germinate and this bag was doing great and i fucked it up. fucking great. im awsome

Sometimes injecting a little bit of sterile water will kick start a stalled jar.
