Shit fuck, help drying

ok well i have 5 brf jars colonizing right now. hopefully i actually get shrooms to grow, but when it does happen i just realized i can't let my parents know that i'm drying these shrooms, i heard you can't just put the wet shrooms in the drying chamber unless they have been fan dried for like 24 hours, well i dont know how i would fan dry for 24 cos its the dead of winter and that would look obvious having a bunch of shrooms lied out and a fan going... how the hell can i dry these fuckers?

borrow some little fan from a trip friend and dry them in a closet and in return give that person a trips worth of shrooms.

High, I would suggest using a non noisey method of dryring them, like this method explained below, just do it under your bed or something.

Cheap and easy drying without dessicant

I have listened to all the ranting about what temperatures are to be avoided and how long it takes to dry in a desicant box. I've got one heck of a nice and quick way to dry shrooms without hurting the content of the alkaloids by any appreciable amount!

You need the following things: a black T-shirt, a "clip up" work lite with a reflector dish (available for around six dollars at most good hardware stores) and 60 watt bulb, and some paper towels.

Take your guys and lay them out on paper towels (you only need to use one layer of towels). Next take the black T-shirt and place it on top of the 'shrooms (black is used because it transfers the heat from the bulb better than other colors, plus it keeps light from possibly degrading the alkaloids). Now clip the light fixture on any handy object so that the reflector is about 18-24 inches from the T-shirt. Turn that puppy on and in 24 hours or so you will have cracker-dry shroomies!!!

I dry around 50 fat Amazonians at a time with this method, and never could tell any difference between fresh or dried potency (taking into account 90% weight reduction for the water loss of dried shrooms)!

If you slice them really thin with a razor blade and put them on paper plates you don't need a fan.

I've had perfectly good results just fan drying for a couple hours and then putting them into the dessicant chamber. but that's a relatively small amount, say twelve to fifteen shrooms, so i suppose a casing load would require at least a couple hours more. Hmmm, I wonder if you could do it in a car, say with a battery powered fan, provided no one would notice them walking by, or your parents wouldn't have a reason to go to that car (such as it's yours)....or maybe the same setup in a remote part of a shed or garage, which might provide an electrical outlet for you as well.

My friend constructed a fan box out of a cardboard box and two computer fans. One blowing air in and one out. It's small, can be hidden, and if it is near your computer, no one can tell it's on.



Works like a charm. :smirk:

i recetly just got done with a crop and didn't fan dry them. i jus put them in a disicant box and they dried fine. they were cracker dry in about 3 days and are still as potent as they were fresh

I had big problems basically doing the same thing, putting them almost straight into the desicant chamber - were there alot of shrooms, or not too many and plenty of dessicant?

dessicant is the way to go. fan drying I find, still leaves a tiny bit moisture. they can rot or lose potency that way. heat drying, is just gay. I think most street dealers do this. That's why there weak. All the people in my town think there big mushheads. like ALL the mushrooms around here are the same anyways, there just cubes. And they are most likely heat dried so already, using a dessicant would make them better. a while ago, long before I thought of growing mushrooms, my mom got this 55 kg bag od calcium chloride for like 20 bucks. It's worth it.

depending on how much you have you can hang them behind the exhaust vent of your computer and just leave your computer on. It will blow a warm(40C) stream of air on the shrooms, drying them quickly. Do this overnight and then use a desiccant to get rid of the last bit of moisture. If this is still not possible, using a needle, thread a piece of thread through the bottom of each shroom until you have them all hanging on the thread and leave a little gap between shrooms. It will look like a shroom neclace. then just hang them in a hidden spot for 12 - 24 hours, then put them in the desiccant box.

Put a fan in with the damp rid and seal up the chamber.Put a screen between the calcium chloride and the mushrooms so they dont touch.The fan will move the same air around and the damp rid will keep absorbing all the moisture.Every few hours move them so they dont stick.They will be very hard to the touch from bottom to cap.If there is any soft spot then they need to go back in.When you bag them up a tea bag of damp rid works to make sure the moisture is gone.Dont ever use heat of any kind.
