Lay out on tarp/cardboard box
Let sit in sun for a good 2-3 days (depending on how much) to completely dry out those nugs-I stir around after everyday
Measure amount needed and load into pillowcase/T shirt
Fill pot with water to cover bag of shit, get temp up to 16-175F and let sit for 45-1 hour
Drain bag of shit overnight/1 day to leave it moist (a little water can drip out but not much)
Spawn with colonized material and enjoy the wonders of poop

i've had sucess from microwave 'pasturization' of cow poo. just put poo in microwave safe container, fill with quality water, microwave on high for 8 mins, stirr, continue to microwave for 5. allow to cool. squeeze out the excess water however you can. i've used latex gloves and hands, pillow cases, handkercheif, whatever. use the poo for entertainment purposes...
i've used this method without much if any drying of the poo with sucess. may be wise to dry though

Pasteurization is not done in a microwave in a few minutes. If anything, thats sterilization.

I thought this place was 'dedicated to stopping the spread of misinformation', looks like it's just the opposite!

Dont put down the forum, u just got here. So sit the heck back and listen a lil Mr. 3 posts.

Boo, if there is any sun, just ANY sun @ all. Get that poo out there on a tarp. U just want to leech out all the urine. Horse poo (to me) doesnt really smell bad @ all. Kind of smells earthy.
I leave my poo out in the rain/cloudiness for a week @ the most. As long as some UV ray get down there to get rid of that nasty amounia smelling piss u will B strait.

If it is still a little mosit after that. Do what I do, line your tub w/ newspaper and blowdry it w/ a hair drier. Or heating disc.

Takes a little while, but well worth it for poo.

Quite simply, after reading your post, one would think pasteurization can be done in the microwave in a few minutes.

No it can't!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not picking on you, these threads in the cult forum are FULL of wrong answers and misinformation.

I have found with compost, manure, dung, pasteurized, sterilized, dried, wet....it all works but to do pasteurization properly, its a tempreture specific procedure which is normally carried out over a day or two. Not in the microwave.

yes i was just going to say that there isn't any sun in the UK  but, i've got the horse caca in my hands right now (in take away containers) and he's told me that the horse shit that he collected was old dry horse shit which was just rained upon so it's moist...

any idea on how to prepare this horse caca?

If it is fact "aged" to the degree you cannot smell urine or ammonia in it. It is fine to use.

You can pasturize it wet or dry. Pasturization simply means heating something to around 160 -- 170 F, and maintaining that temp, for around 90 minutes.

I prefer the "dry" method.  Less weight, time, mess, drips, smell & little or no poo squeezing, later.

All the dry method requires is the poo, an oven, a pan, a meat thermometer & hopefully you have a fan to vent the stove area out a window or door.

Use the biggest pot, turkey pan or whatever you have that will hold the poo. Shred it as best you can, place it in the pot, pan (whatever), slide the thermometer into the center of the poo & bake it in the oven around 200 F, until the center of the poo reachs around 160 --  170, then, turn the oven down & maintain that temp, for around 90 minutes.

Once baked, if it needs water? Add some pre/boiled water to get it to the proper moisture level & stir with a big spoon (or, whatever). The optimal moisture level is as much water as it will absorb, but when squeezed (hard), it does not drip.

Failure with poo most often results from it being to WET. You want it as moist as possible, but not a wet soggy dripping mass.

Allow it to cool to room temp & it is ready to spawn with a grated cake, colonized grain or seed.

Simple as that. Great Poo = fast colonization, stout crops & several flushes.

6T

Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.

Sounds like you have some good "poo", LOL. Once you case & fruit horse poo -- out. If all goes well. You will love the results. A dark 10 or 12 quart plastic dish pan works well for a substrate container. Spawn ratio should be no less than 10 to 1. The more, the better .........up to 20%. After that, it is overkill. 6T
