Microwave tek?

I saw it here http://www.shroomery.org/index/the/default/par/22707
in the gallery.

I've searched for "micro tek" and micro AND tek, but don't find anything. Is this a viable way to grow? It seems much easier than using a pressure cooker...

Any tips/links?

That person is using the PF Tek though not grains. With the PF Tek in jars you dont need to PC, just boil for 30 minutes. If you try that tek with grains (which is when you need the PC) I would bet that youd fail miserably though.

PF Tek calls for boiling the jars 60 minutes from the point the water starts to boil. 30 minutes is not sufficient. Also, it always better to pressure cook.

Okay PF Tek is with brown rice flour/virmiculite, correct? That's what I'll be using. I was thinking of boiling, but there's a good chance of contam, so I'll just pick up a 30$ PC at the store near here.

How do I do the microwave tek?

Yes, PF Tek is w/ BRF and Vermiculite.

Don't do the microwave tek. If you have a pressure cooker, then that should be your first option. If you boil the jars correctly, you should have a high sucess rate.

??? That tek suggestes boiling. If I follow it correctly, I should be okay though? That would save me quite a bit if I didn't have to pick up a PC.

I always use the microwave and have never had contams so far just for the record...But it would probably be better to PC

always use a PC if you have a choice, even though its 30-50$ it's still a great investment.

just boil jars for 60-90 minutes and you should be fine.
