You'll defently want to play around with casings and various casing layers. Also, you could look into spawning straw or dung which can be down with PF style cakes but is usualy done with a whole grain ie. rye that unfortuanlly needs a pressure cooker. Look around in the Grow/Find section for the 9er tek. it's a whole grain brown rice method when I dont think needs a pressure cooker. You could play around with that for a while untill you can afford a pressure cooker. You should be able to get a nice one for $30 or so and they really open up a door to a greater amount of substrates and techniques.

Well, first you hafta look at what you DO have access to... Microwave oven? Glass jars? Plastic containers? Trays? Tubs? Large pot for boiling jars & so forth... Then use your imagination to utilize the materials you have access to and try something! I remember living with a girlfriend that I had to hide my shroom-grow from... I no longer had access to a pressure cooker, so I used one of her large cooking pots to boil a cleaned-out pickle jar containing some rice from her pantry. With that method I was able to get an in-vitro cake going for a "personal stash". If you just keep trying different improvements on your methods using stuff from around your house, YOU might be the one to come up with a new TEK for people to use. I would like to see a proven microwave tek developed, but just haven't had the time to do it myself. May you be blessed with the ingenuity of St. McGuyver! YourHighness
