Bluing Squamosa found again
    #11163441 - 10/01/09 11:51 AM (14 years, 6 months ago)

After a 24hour printing of these one showed bluing on the top of the stipe, and the others showed some in the gills, which may be spore dust,I'm not sure.Looks like a small reaction on the stipe to me though. What do you guys think? Thanks!

I see no definite bluing. I do see very mild bluish hues in #4 but they are hard to seperate from other colorations in the mushroom, so im not sure i would call it "bluing". Beautiful mushrooms, they are very Elegant. Nice find regardless:thumbup:

If you're really certain that there's blue staining, and it's undeniable, I would PM Workman and ask if he'd mind getting a print or two for further consideration. Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World lists this as not active (p. 147).

Wait those last 3 are a psilocybe? I'm pretty damn sure I found a couple of those the other day but wrote it off as something else because I don't expect to find psilo's around here. It looked a lot like yours but the stem didn't have any noticeable ring-things/ruffles.

I'm gonna go back tommorrow and see if it's still there.

Awesome finds though definitely get some over to workman  .

Yeah smaerd they are a non-active psilocybe, and they're everywhere right now.I usually find them in the forests growing on wood.

Maybe they are evolving to become a non-tropical active psilocybe for us in the NE  keep us in the know!
