Tampanensis Troubles...

So two weeks ago I inoculated a bunch of jars...All jars were from the same batch of Rye Grass Seed and all were PC'd together...All the jars took off within four days except the Tampanensis...They never germinated...So, I started to wonder about the viability of the syringe (which was bought new last month)...I decided to make a batch of Honey LC and inoculated it with the Tampanensis syringe and sure enough, six days later, I have spores germinating in the LC...So what do you think happened with the RGS jars and what should I do about them...All the other jars of various strains and species I started at the same time are completely colonized or well on their way...

Leave the jars, wait and see what happens.
Test your LC, then use it to noc up rye grass, rye grain, or WBS and do g2g or GLC from there. IMO.

Was planning to leave the jars for a couple more weeks...Just not sure why they haven't germinated...Do Tampanensis germinate slower than other strains...I know my Pans sometimes take a couple weeks to get going...

I didn't have much luck with tampanensis. It colonized the WBS ok, but never made stones. I had made some LC with spores the way I tell people not to- don't know if that was a factor. But ATL #7 worked for me.

Doc, what do you think you did wrong?

I just found an 8 month old syringe of tampanensis behind my stereo and want to give it a try.

I dunno. Don't know enough about them to guess, really. Could be a lot of things.
Maybe grain choice- I only tried tampanensis on WBS, not rye. And I think that pints are the biggest jars I use with that, I wonder if a half gallon of rye would have done better?

I've got some LC left, I'll be trying different things sooner or later.
