About to harvest some trees

its been a long season for me started with 15 plants and im down to 3 only because i took my battle to the trees.(couple pics) deer ate 4 of em then i fenced that off then i had a few males so i just fed them to my goats they enjoy them a lot, then my one female i had fenced off got stolen along with 2 other males i was planning on giving to a buddy so he could make some hash.

I didnt think growing up high in the trees would work as well as it did. Well i knew it would get plenty of sun but i was worried about wind, lighting storms, and other falling trees. and anyone else who tries growing high up BE CAREFUL i can't stress that enough because i was 60 feet up in the tree tops and had a few close calls.

anyway i went to ace hardware and picked up like 50 one foot long nails, some rope, and some camo spray paint.

i then spray painted the nails and then started hammering them up the tree for feet and hand grips but made sure i started them high enough so people wouldnt see them. i placed them about 3 or 4 feet from each other up the tree.

once i decided i found a high enough spot where you couldn't see them from the ground, i proceeded to hammer a few nails at the same height around the tree trunk this gave me something to set my 5 gallon buckets on. Once i lugged the buckets up i sat them on the nails and tied them very securely to the tree trunk.

the hardest part was actually lugging the plants up because i put them up there once they were already 4 feet tall. i just put the 5 gallon bucket in a backpack zipped it up and climbed with the plant sticking up over my head. This was extremly difficult because the plants would shift around and almost fall out of my bookbag. That is how i almost fell the first time. A plant fell out but i somehow managed to grab it then the branch i was standing on snapped so i was hanging by one hand with a 30 pound bucket of dirt in one hand and holding my wieght with my other hand. i still dont know how i didnt fall i got very lucky because i was about 30 feet up when the branch snapped.(next year the buckets are goin up empty and ill carry transplants up there separately with the dirt in a backpack)

once the plants are up there the works not over though. i then had to climb the tree everytime i wanted to water them. Lucky for me i had a rainy summer so i didnt climb it every single day but climbing a 60 foot tree with 3 gallons of water on your back is a workout everyday not to mention some little anxiety attacks when the wind picks up and your swaying so high up in the tree. i orinally wanted to get a water pump and just run a hose up but i didnt mind climbing it to check on my babies everyday it makes the harvest that much more worth it.

Anyway to anyone who wants to do this you better be comfortable with heights and a good tree climber this method also makes it much harder for scumbags to snag your stash because most people dont look up for weed and if they do stumble across it they will have a hard time getting it down or they have to wait until its time to harvest. and tell nobody because your own friends might dick you over this happened to me last summer which is another reason i decided the tree method.
