New subforum in the marketplace

I mentioned this to royer, and he didn't think too much of it, but I figured I'd post it here to see what others think.  Someone recently posted a thread in the marketplace suggesting that we consolidate/organize the threads so they make more sense.  Apparently such threads are illegal outside of this forum, and as such it was closed.  Here's the thread in question if you're curious. In anycase, I suggested that these free sporeprint threads had their own subforum within the marketplace, like how the cultivation section has an archive subforum and ethnobotanicals have a growlog subforum, so that they don't have to be clogging up the stickied area.  Also, any other free threads, such as free wedge and free myc threads could be moved there as well.

its good to keep it localized to their own thread.  If we were to have a sub forum for them it would be pointless unless those were the only three threads their. That's why they are stickied.  IMO

just because 2 people have an idea does not mean it is a good idea

the threads that the post was talking about ALREADY exists and are working fine (some slow) but fine.

i didn't see the point of making 3-6 new threads and hiding them in the back room for no one to use them..

i know you are desperately holding on to this idea but it is not a good one bro

Terrible idea IMO. We dont need a whole subforum for 5 threads. (print, syringe, exotic print, wedge, equipment.)

Whatever happened to the free equipment thread anyway?

its died, people would take a PC and offer 10 empty syringes (not the exact case but you get what i am trying to say.

it would work if the items were of equal value but then everybody thinks there items are worth top dollar :shrug:

How about a give away forum. Any contests (prints, seeds, plants, equp. etc...), VVVVthreadsVVVV, or others that are not asking for anything in return IMO SHOULD have a separate forum.

As of now print give away and contest are in cult and market, others in entho, maybe other forums that I don't visit. It would make sense to gather them into one place, sort of a "mooch" forum. This would free up space in: cult for ?? and answers, marketplace for actual trades, so on and so forth.

it is a good idea but it has been tried.

after going back and fourth the threads were placed where they were by popular majority member requests.

most of the contests/givaways in cult are members that can not join the marketplace because of requirements or long time members that would like to help noobs out.




there are no contests/trading allowed in the garden (only one salvia thread)

also a mooch forum is not a good idea as we just made a rule that begging or asking for items with nothing to trade is now going to get locked.

it stems from certain members ALWAYS asking (more like begging) for free shit or puppets of members doing the same. there goal is to not pay for items that we do have to pay for and they want you to feel bad for them and pay for there stuff...  not going to be allowed any more and i think it is a great addition.

the edible wedge thread is in the edible section where the edible growers want it

the saliva thread is in the ethno forum where the ethno members want it and so on and so fourth.

most have been moved back and fourth but they are where its popular active members want them.

if you were active in a thread, in a forum that you loved to be in would you want someone not active in your forum to come and take it away to a forum that you don't go to much?

imo everything is where it should be and is working how it should, if you get interested in other topics and wonder in to the forum you get to enjoy that trade thread along with your new interest.

I agree to an extent.  If it's not broke, don't fix it.  I thought it would be a good idea, but upon further consideration, it would be unnecessary and likely do more harm than good.  Like I said though, I just had to see what others thought about it, since that other thread was so abruptly closed.

i went in there with my fire sword and died everyone and then took out my sledge hammer and smashed the thread in to pieces


i closed the thread because the threads in question are already in place and there was no trade request. right in the forum description it says

"Got something you want to sell, trade, buy, auction off or give away? This is the place for you to exchange goods and hold contests. Commercial messages and posts offering or requesting illegal substances are strictly prohibited"
