"Spore Wars" ...wow, I haven't heard that term in awhile
As the shroomery grows, its going to need money. A necessary evil.
Right now vendors pay for most of the shroomerys bills. The idea of selling a permit to sell spores/items is already in place. That permit costs $200 a month I'm a paying vendor here and I can go into the marketplace and advertise like the other vendors (have a contest or raffle). And with that attract more people to go to my website.
A good example is High Mountain Compost. He pays $200 a month and his website is only 1 page! Yet, becuase he pays for the "permit" he can have contests and promote here.
I like Anno's reasonsing - good for the community -> bad for the vendors -> vendors pay the shroomery bills -> bad for the shroomery -> bad for the community

First of all, thank you for helping keep the shroomery around, Lana
The point I'm trying to make, i think, is what about the average user whose collection has grown too fat for him/her to use? You know, someone who just wants to have a "garage sale" and clean house. for this person, not interested in advertising or starting a business, $200 is a little steep for a one time liquidation of a few dozen prints. I think issuing limited time (two weeks? or maybe one post with a two bump limit?) permits for $50-$100, with no banners, only available once per year per user could be a significant source of added income. And so long as it wasn't abused, i don't really see this making a noticable impact on vendor sales. I, personally, don't have anything to sell so i guess i really don't care all that much . Just post'n me thoughts, thats all
i gotta admit, though, 200 bux ain't bad at all. maybe I should start a website... hmmm...
peace- BF
