i hate bicyclists.

I longboard, a lot. many people and bikers on the trails are generally courteous and will shout out from behind to let me know they're passing. On the flip side, many WON'T and will assume I have eyes in the back of my head. Then when we nearly collide while I'm carving/dancing they get pissed and curse or something of the same effect at me, while I remind them THEY have the brakes, the mirrors, and the ability to communicate, and that conserving their fucking speed isn't as important as avoiding a preventable collision. I remain vigilant as I understand I share the pavement, but I fucking HATE these arrogant bikers that ride like they own the god damn roads and trails, I feel like carrying some rocks with me next time! :crankey: Damn near everytime my girl and I are riding around on Mercer Island or Seattle there are foolish bikers that do not obey traffic signals and ride right through four way stops. I've nearly hit 4-5 bikers now in my car and longboard!

I do not try to reciprocate the animosity however - I just can't anticipate someone flying up my ass and passing me in a blur expecting me to know they were coming, and wish they would practice some empathy! You try balancing bombing hills and negotiating traffic without anything but a foot/air brake and get back to me you two wheelin douchebags!

that's what i want to do as well the only thing is it's always after the fact that you wish you could fuck with them. hence the rocks.

too bad you don't live near.
i love long boarding down roads.
i think it shouldn't be allowed to bike through trails.
when i walk through it peacefully in my own thought i get annoyed having to suddenly jump to the side to some fucking biker.

i don't approve of stealing unless it's for survival and is from stores or something.

I ride everyday, I'm one of those fuckers you see in lycra absolutely hammering along.

I don't ride on paths because you going at 40km/hr you're going to hit walkers/runners, slow people on mountain bikes and skateboarders/rollerblades.

So I just ride on the road on the shoulder, I take up a lane when it's needed perhaps 5% of the time (turning corners, going through roundabouts, avoiding obstacles/potholes) otherwise cars can pass me at full speed.

If you weren't taking up the whole sidewalk it wouldn't be a problem. Someone should be able to go around you without you having to move. :shrug:

That said, I do try and say excuse me as I'm approaching someone.

If I ever see you long boarding, or anyone else, I'll be sure to warn you. It is douchey to act like ya own the road. Some people are just cocky, even teens om bikes with cars. It perplexes me.

Longboarding is :awesome::thumbup:

I try to keep away from crowds while I'm boarding though. Have ran in to too many people and bikers who will stop dead in their tracks or slam on their brakes without bothering to think that there may be somebody close behind them.
