You ever consider treatment for aspergers, akira? A rider presents a safety hazard for themselves and others by being less visible and significantly slower-moving on the roadway. It's not unreasonable to hold them to the same expectations of everyone else on that uses the road, like insurance and licensing.

i said they should use the sidewalk, or if impeded, use a bike path. i've said using the road is about as stupid as you can get, given the nature of drivers (and their idiocy) and the nature of cycling, and bikers (and their idiocy).
so basically, you and i, essentially, agree on the same premises you've surmised in this discussion. i just think you people don't need to rearrange society for the sake of your "traffic ego".

i'm not whining...in fact, i'm the only one actively not whining and whinging, in this very thread. all of you are whining about something, i, on the otherhand, am simply foregoing most of the complaints in this thread, as they're simply delusional, and then i am agreeing with one area of contention, that most of us here actually seem to agree on, including me (which is stay off the road), so really, i don't even see what problem you have with me, other than being butthurt. you can keep seeking, though, bro. i have several things you can use for your assplay.

Traffic ego? rearranging society? I don't know if I agree with you or not because 99% of your posts on this forum are rambling messes that aren't worth deciphering. But I'm talking about bikes on roadways, not rewriting the constitution. All I'm saying is that they are a road hazard by being less visible and substantially slower moving than cars, and should compensate for that by being insured and licensed. If a cyclist causes damage to my car after they run a stop sign, they should have insurance to cover the damage to my car.

It's not really all that necessary though, there isn't exactly a pressing problem with bikers hitting cars too often, certainly nothing that can't be dealt with in a regular court case nine times out of ten if it even needed to go that far. Such a law requiring people on bicycles to be insured would be pretty sensationalist lawmaking, and would deter people from riding bikes more often for practically no reason.
A small tax on bike sales in a city or state to fund new bike paths in an area or region would be a more reasonable law for example.

you want to create more rules, fees, licenses, ect, which is what 'rearranging society' is. what else do you rearrange society with, if not enacting ordinance? you want to impinge bikers because you are insecure about the fact of their encroaching on you in the road, correct? but see, they can barely travel a road, and i don't think they should be on them at all- i could argue (you gorm) that they could require a license, but since i'm not a commie shitheel, i wouldn't impinge on people's agency and ability to drive a bike (kids ride bikes you know, should they require a license too, G?), i'd say that they can either be good and not get struck, or, like any driver on any road, can be a dumbass and get woke by getting creamed...otherwise, they should stick to designated paths, or the sidewalk (certain areas area's are too busy, certainly a fine could be in order), because you shouldn't be driving on the road in the first place, lest it's a motor-vehicle you're using.
non-motorized vehicles shouldn't require a license. only some sniveling libtard would think that necessary.
and if someone did use the road, under my ordinance, they'd be fined just for that.
but it isn't my ordinance...the only logical end to this is that they simply get woke by their premiums going up, and then the car damage, in proportion to the all (the sum damage in toto) would be so minimal, that they would never require an insurance, (lest biking was more prevalent, because this sort of requisite would require that bikes not be used, at all (people wouldn't afford it, nor would they be able to learn to ride one, it'd be too expensive to even get one), in principal, because no one would afford such malarky.

One could say that required licensing, insurance, registration, etc. on cars deters people from driving. If everyone were allowed to drive on the road the way any cyclist is allowed on the road, then driving would be a lot less safe. It's just the way the current system is. I don't see any reason the same shouldn't be true of cyclists. The deterrent will remove the shitty ones.
