Both times were almost identical incidents too. I'm cruising on the sidewalk (after being too scared to ride on the road from crazy ass motherfuckers),
And you know how sidewalks go across the exits/entrance to parking lots and crap, well you're constantly crossing those....
I'm riding down the sidewalk, being very aware of whats going on around me. I see cars in the parking lots all the time yeah,
But both times, I SEE these cars way in advance, not anywhere near the entrance, sitting there... then as soon as I'm 5 feet away they decide that is the perfect time to not look and just PEEL out... I see them perfectly clear... they don't even look... and just nail me

it's funny you should mention that, cause I've had this same exact thing happen to me as well (albeit not nearly as brutal though)

a big part of the reason I ride on the side of the streets these days is because of that incident  :mad2:

the law of life is this, you choose your form of transportation.  the transportation you pick carries various forms of risks.  roads are designed for automobiles.  roads have speed limits.  regardless of what the law says, peddle bikes on the roads is just flat out bullshit.

the bottom line is we hate you just as much as you hate us, but don't make your decision of transportation our problem.  both sides break laws, but since i don't ride a bike all i know from personal experience is that bikers break a shit load more laws than me when i encounter/see them.

if i pass a biker, and then come up to a stop sign, i REFUSE to check my mirrors to see if his dumbass is gunna get in my turn path or run the sign ect.  ill look both ways twice like i always do, if you get in my way you better start dialing your insurance company or reserving your spot in hell.:hellfire:

p.s. the real problem is bikers can't make up their mind if there an automobile or a pedo.  what they really want is the best of both worlds.  the major reason we have problems is because bikers are actually lazy, they don't want to stop their momentum and slow down like a good driver would if they were in a car.

The REAL problem is that bikers rarely have a system put into place for them. There is a system for automobiles and a system for pedestrians. We get into this grey area because we are forced to use both in order to get around. Cars don't like me on the road so I'll try the sidewalk, people don't like me riding down the sidewalk, so I'll try the gutter.. Give us bike lanes and why would we instead choose to continue riding on roads with cars?

Bikers are lazy? Why would lazy people choose a mode of transport that takes longer than driving, and requires your own physical effort to power? I would say the people sitting in mobile armchairs would be more likely to fall in the lazy category. and just like a good driver would slow down for a stop sign, so too would a good biker. But then, a bad driver AND biker would both NOT STOP.

except 9/10 bikers don't stop, while 9/10 drivers DO.  my point wasn't about people being lazy, it was about lawbreakers being lazy...which is why bikers break the law, there lazy and think they earned that shit or something.  i mean if your on a bike and you break the law...9/10 you know it and did it on purpose.  with drivers sure you get that too but its not even remotely close in comparision, were traveling at faster speeds, with blind spots, and we have to look out for these little gnomes rolling around popping out of tree's n shit throwing us cookies

Can you prove those numbers?
Or is this just a generalization.

im basing those numbers off of personal experience....since all my opinions are based off the same thing.  obviously i havn't been refering to anything from other cities or states because i don't live in those states.  and my personal experiences mean a shit load more to me than some random website.  i almost NEVER see a biker signal.  i never see bikers stop at stop signs for slower roads unless they are kids...ironic huh.

that shit doesn't happen nearly as often for drivers because we actually get tickets n shit.  the only time you guys get tickets is when your not driving on the road lol.  maybe in cali or something shit is different but im guessing for most cities this is how shit goes...its very common knowledge and your crying because my numbers might be off by a few lolz.

On a little agile two wheel thing, I'll just cut a corner and not turn on the road. It's different then being in a car. Stop bitching about how we "didn't signal", we are on the bikes, you are stuck on the road in a metal projectile. We loose if you hit us, so you better watch out too. Like I said, mt mistake fucked me up, but the car only got a broken window where I hit it, and some dents. You fuckers should share some responsibility in your poorly breaking deathtraps. Not everyone pays attention all the time, so if I forget to signal, I deserve to be hit? Fuck no!!!

Go get hit and say how someone deserves it. Noone signals on a bike, most people on bikes ar rather courteous to cars, and most smary people arn't riding down mainstreet in the inner lane. It's all just a little common sense and courtesy. Plus, you go through school to get the license, that puts the responsibility right in your hands.

I'm sorry, but I am not responsible for you.
I am only responsible for what I do.
If you can 't obey the street laws then fuck you and your bike.

Well, then if I should obey the street laws then I'll drive on the right and expect you to watch out. I understand a cocky "I own the road" biker getting hit(I have a cousin like that). Hell, I took responsibility for my accident because I misjudged. I could have said "he saw me coming from a hundred feet, easy!" It was my mistake.

By the way, fuck you. You are responsible, when in that car, for everyone around you. :fuckyou:

How the fuck am I responsible for anything but my actions.

Thats like making me responsible for the drunk drivers on the road, just because I'm in a car too.

Are you responsible for the other bikers on the road? :flowstone:

I understand getting uppity with bikers that don't stop at lights, and pull jackass moves to cut in front of cars.

But as has been pointed out in this thread many times, the roads aren't designed for bikers, and it's a complex issue. Bikes have to bounce back and forth between acting like cars and pedestrians. Maybe if you got off your ass and rode once in a while, you'd stop being such a stickler. Cars have more responsibility than bikes, FACT. We cannot kill you any more than a pedestrian or a small rodent crossing the street can kill you. That power rests in the hands of drivers. Realize this or continue to get disrespected, both here and on the street.

Man where do you guys live? Here everyone stops at stop signs. I've never seen anyone signal on a bike, there's really no reason to unless they're riding in a car lane which is stupid to begin with. We just ride in a bike lane, sidewalk and once in a while on the side of the road around here. I go through a stop sign if I get there before another car, no reason to stop just to keep going again, if the car gets there before me i slow down and wait for them to pass. Most of the time they give me the right of way!! People are pretty damn curtious!
