Berlin Night Life and Never in America

While my girlfriend is in Munich performing (singing) in a performance consisting of 10th century music (Isn't she cool?!), I remain in Berlin holding down my end of the Artistic Front, The American Invasion with Wobbly A Productions as a Codeand Undertone and Over tone (Perfectly in key) to the whole thing.

So yesterday I made my way to a part in Berlin, where the name escapes me. It was most definitely a German name, complete with Umlauts and and way more constants than vowels.

The reason? I had been invited to a "Street Party" by this man Paul from Dublin that I met through an ideas team my girlfriend goes to. This is the point where I would say being here is constantly one-two punches of mental stimulation to the face. So, I hop on am a "U-Bahn" which is like a NYC Subway and a Tram, also like an NYC Subway system but above ground.

I met a lot of people, and funnily enough not a single German. Dudes from: Australia, the Ukraine, Ireland, England...WOW...and I thought Amurka(c.) was a Metling Pot, Tossed Salad, or Everything Bagel.

The Host, who from Dublin, claimed that if Bush ran for office there he would have been elected, told me of some of the things he pulled off in hat very spot. Bosy paining a Nude Female Model, and having her walk down the street int eh afternoon. Lining the Stone Cirle protecting a tree with Tarps and turning it into Little Swimming Pools for the kids. Handing out free beers to whomeever wanted to stay and drink them with them.

NOW You could NEVER get away with this shit where I live, and MAY BE New York, but you would probably need as many balls as the amount of money and Police State Document Rat-Racing it would take to pull these Public Performaces off.

And that leads me to think of an Axiomatic Statement you could say about America, based off this proof:

LAW:
America must have no sympathy for the Artist, and make it hard for him to even get the CHANCE to deal with the public.

Simply put, Berlin makes me realize specifically how socially backward many, many places in America seems to be. (NYC is like a constant exception) BUT...Berlin lets you walk around with a beer in the street. Take that NYC! Why not in America? Because we are Puritanical Pussies, who make mountain out of Molehills...make men into Gods...Hallelujah!

So faith has been stowed upon me at least there is some save face for good models on how society can handle themselves, and that's what I think that I mostly thought about that night. How much of pussies we are. Ashamed of the drink, sex, and even rock and roll
(Thanks Alice Cooper!) we almost try to squash, to me, literally three of the best things one can experience in life. Why is it so hard to keep our cool around timeless ideals? Either way, we should really try to peer pressure America to be cool like Berlin.

I have Berlin is Boilin' names!

the extent to which puritanical prudish roots grip america by the balls really is absurd.  yet it's hard to really fully comprehend until you travel abroad.  it is, in fact, quite possible for a society to have a more liberal definition of morality and still be a fully functioning community.  america has a tendency for the moral prudes to scream "oh, but think of the children!".  but c'mon.  give the children some credit.  i think they can handle seeing a drunk person or two on the streets.  and i really doubt seeing the human form at a young age will cause someone to become a drug-addicted sexual deviant.

and one of my favorite aspects of traveling so far certainly has to be the traveler's lifestyle and culture.  it's like the traveler's culture is the same regardless of the culture of the specific country you're in.  whether you're in berlin or vienna or prague or dublin, you're going to meet those traveling brits/aussies/japanese/whomever.  and you're going to have an immediate bonding point and you can share stories about your travels thus far.  as much as i appreciate the money i'm currently saving and the guarantee of a warm bed at night, i'm really looking forward to getting back out on the rails and the road.

Honestly I feel like nyc has turned into some souless former shell of itself.  The new cities to watch in my experience are SF (as always), Atlanta, and parts of LA.


That said Berlin is fucking awesome.  I was there for a few days in some run down section with old bombed out looking factories.  We wandered into some industrial park area as we saw a bunch of people going in and out of there, turns out there was an impromptu free party going on there which was a lot of fun.

I haven't yet had the pleasure of leaving America yet, but it's stories like these that make me feel deep down that I would enjoy myself a lot more if I left this fucking country.

You can walk around with beer in New Orleans and Las Vegas here.

Ive been known to do it here regardless of the law. I just wish I didnt get such strange looks from the normies.

Your posts make me want to return there now and fall in love with a Berlin girl, but realistically it will be at least six more months before I'm able to.
I think I've felt more at home there than anywhere else, including the place where I've lived all my life.

not only in berlin, dude... walking around with beer in your hand is pretty normal everywhere in germany... you should swing by cologne some time... it's not as big as berlin, but i actually like it that way... berlin can be a monster of a thing and cologne kinda has all the advantages of big city life while still being a decent size and not getting on your nerves as easily... and people are not as rude over here...
