help identify mushrooms growing on elephant dung

i grabbed them thinking wow little mushrooms on dung sweet.  But with my past mycology course, and a little research I believe they are inactive.  regardless I wanna know what it is!!!  trying to id shrooms is fun :smile:

Habitat:
gulf coast Texas area.  On drying elephant dung.  September

Gills: light Grey w thin light edges.  edge seems even.  Almost looks free but I believe they are attached.  gills are regular with  very short, short and long gills. 


Stem:
shiny whitish cream, smooth, solid, no annulus.  Base is straight with no widening, breaks cleanly from dung. 

Cap:
smooth, shiny white becoming slightly yellowish/brown on top, hemispherical, convex

Spore print color:
black

Bruising:
none

:shrug: My first guess was Panaeolus semiovatus, but a couple things don't seem to be matching up.

Yeah, semiovatus will have an annulus.  These are Panaeolus antillarum.

yea haha, I work with elephants at a zoo.  Sometimes we dry the bolus and shellac them for educational purposes etc.

That's pretty cool.  My buddy just got back from Thailand and went on an Elephant ride.  He said the guide would collect the mushshrooms growing out of the dung during the tour, and then sell them to the tourists after when it was complete.
