Okay, so I found a few Copelandia's in elephant dung,
Found many Coprinus and some paneo.us antillarum. Did not ever find any cubies in elephant dung in all of my travels in Southeast Asisa, however I know they can grow form the dung.
HEre are three imaes. first the dung, then a clump with a shroom, and then a close-up of the shroom in a clump of dung.

2.. [image] I would like to mention that this mushroom was a lot pinker but i had the flash at the wrong setting and was not aware of the color difference until I looked at it on the computer.
These images were taken with my Pentax 2 megapixel camera which is for sale.

The cap resembles a Coprinus. Did you try collecting this specimen,or have any other details on the mushroom?
Of course Ive never seen a pink Coprinus...

No,
I hae never seen these before. I always check the elephant dung piles as well as the piled buffalo manure heaps abround the bases of coconut palms where they stack the shit.
Just after the last image it started to monsoon and I immediately protected my camera and I was unable to salvage a specimen. I cannot recall the gill color but I am hoping to find more of them on my trip this summer.

THey would have been drenched inthe torrent rains that came down form nowhere. Like a Maui flash flood of rain.

That is a way cool looking mushroom. If I had to guess I'd go with Coprinus, but it's different enough that it could be lots of things.
Hope you can find more of them next time.
Happy mushrooming!
