CHEMISTRY-Need Help! (Buffers)

In lab, a 1:1 acetic acid/sodium acetate solution was prepared by mixing 10 ml of .2 M acetic acid and 10 ml of .2 M sodium acetate. How do I calculate pH?

Afterwards, 1.25 ml of HCL was added to the solution. How do I calculate the new pH?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I really have no idea where to start. Any help would be appreciated

wouldnt the acidic level just be 1.25 then?

I'd use litmus paper

Well acetic acid is a weak acid, and the acetate ion will act as a  base. I'm not sure exactly how to do it(although I should), but you are probably going to have to consider the pKa of acetic acid to determine the extent to which it will have dissociated.

Another thing, you probably realise that the acetate ion is the conjugate base of acetic acid, so maybe it will just accept any protons that the acetic acid dissociates with, therefore keeping the solution neutral. This is possible as sodium acetate is used as a buffer.
