I downloaded the new album to verify that it was, in fact, terrible.
To my surprise it was worse than expected. Jesus Christ.

I too have seen them live. I'd say it was mediocre. To be fair it was only 2 years ago, I'm sure they were better before. I'm also not a huge fan, but come on.

I heard their new album and didn't like it, but they play a lot of shit at their concerts I enjoy. I mean, have you heard Chris Cornell's new album? Terrible, but Chris Cornell is certified awesome. Kinda a clunker with me though.

pearl jam hasn't been "pearl jam" since the first 2 albums. they have been on a down hill slide ever since vitology. but they still rock in concert. it suprised me, but (as of a few years ago) even their newer shitty music is pretty tolerable when performed live.

so to sum up: they still rock live.

I'm glad somebody agrees that Pearl Jam sucks. To me, Pearl Jam captures the essence of trying to sound like you belong on the radio, well before this new wave of intentionally radio-sounding garbage came along.
