Right now I'd say mine are Vonnegut and Bradbury. Feel free to give any suggestions or authors you think would be good to branch out with. I'm looking to expand my list.:thumbup:

I just checked my friends personal library and he has Still Life with Woodpecker.
It sure is nice living with an in-house library :laugh:

I can't pass up a favorite author thread.

Harrison Bergeron is my favorite short story of all time - Vonnegut is brilliant.

My favorite authors are:
1) Nietzsche, particularly "Antichrist" and "Beyond Good and Evil," the latter being excellent packing material for a long trip.

2) Haruki Murakami, "Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World," also excellent for packing.

3) Paul Auster, "Book of Illusions" being one of the most fascinating pieces of slipstream ever conceived - give it 100 pages and it really starts to pay off in a big way. His New York Trilogy is also worth a read. It's a profoundly interesting bit of experimental detective fiction. Really, everything he writes is pure genius.

Jonathan Ott. His writing style inspires me as everything that nonfiction writing ought to be.

I thought it was brilliant in parts.  Specifically the last third or so of the book was really quite excellent.  Overall its a good book but parts of it were great I felt.  Ive been meaning to read Underworld at some point

I also read Catch-22 recently, which was amazing. Very sarcastic and has much character development.

Robert Anton Wilson is a trip.
He uses alternating story lines a lot, and they intertwine in humorous ways.
Kind of like that movie Crash, except funnier and more sophisticated.
Others:

Michael Crichton and Stephen King for that B-rate-movie thriller fix
Alan C. Weisbecker has 2 books out, "In Search of Captain Zero" and "Cosmic Banditos", which I highly recommend.
Just absolutely badass the stuff he writes about.
Good for someone who likes Hunter Thompson.

That book is awesome lulz. I :heart: Robbins writing style so much.
