kinda odd timing, about a week ago i finaly picked up fear and loating and started reading it... the ending is going to be wierd now... pretty good book so far, the movie is pretty right on, with the exception of a few parts cut, or a few sayings re-arranged...

I was just trying to lighten up the mood a bit. Certainly he wouldn't want us mourning too long

I am deeply saddend by Hunter's passing. I have always enjoy his prolific ramblings which never ceased to amaze and entertain me. I feel that a lifetime lived as hard as his, was bound to end by ghastly means. I had no idea it would end like this. I will be lighting a candle tonight, and I will let it burn in remembrance of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson- A true American Hero.

Lets keep in mind that it is unknown wether the shooting was intentional or not. Hunter was a man who loved his guns. LOVED his guns. He would tote those fucking things everywhere, and really, was a hazard with them waiting to happen.
Although, I know in my heart, that life became too much for Thompson. And he was in control of the situation. Gonzo will live forever in the pages of history.

I would much rather believe that it was just an accident caused by his gonzo wrecklessness. I am surprised I havnt seen this on the news. Maybe they will show the movie on cable now and do a special on him. *trys to look on the bright side*

Anyone see the funeral he has set up for himself where his ashes are shot out of a giant fist in a canister that explodes in the air while Mr. Tambourine Man is playing?
