There's this huge group between poor and rich called the middle class, and they're getting screwed.  Health care costs are the number one reason for bankruptcy in this country.

they have the same option of seeking the free medical care given at
state and county health departments as well as the charity hospitals,
what stops them? treatment isnt given based on income

Quote:
How many of these "charity" hospitals are out there?  How many people have ready access to them?  Is there one in every city?  Can people get their care transferred to them after their insurance has decided they had a pre-existing condition?

charity hospitals dont discriminate based on preexisting conditions or whether you have/had insurance, of course if you have insurance they'd like to bill them for the bulk of treatment

http://www.wsbt.com/news/consumer/17296354.html

You seem to have non-profit and charity confused.  According to your own article, the charity care they give is a small portion of what they do.  Most of what they do involves insurance, just like any for-profit hospital.  And it's the insurance industry that is the problem, not the hospitals.

Quote:
well please show us some fact instead of rhetoric, you constantly claim
I'm lying but you've done diddly to back that claim

Here's a little fact for you to chew on:

We spend a higher percentage of our GDP on health care than any other industrialized nation in the world.  Health care costs are rising against inflation, even as most other sectors of the economy have seen deflation.  The US is ranked 37th in overall effectiveness of its healthcare system, right behind Costa Rica and just ahead of Slovenia.

Another fact I know:  You will either ignore these facts or distort them in a way that makes no sense, as you always do.  This is because you have shown no capability of debating honestly.  I'm done here.

excuses my ass.....segregation is only 30 maybe 40 yrs old. This means our grand parents and some of our parents lived this lifestyle.

I find it hilarious that they segregated churches too. Even with all th power of GOD. They couldn't see past the skin color...i think most churches are still this way....even seperated in the graveyards

That being said what the fuck do you mean the dems want the bailouts? Not one industry that was bailed out was run by Dems and I have seen a step in the right direction of holding them accountable.

the democrats pandered to the UAW to keep the doors of the US auto

said they needed $25 billion, with the exception of the north american market and germany all of the GM foreign divisions are reporting profits
in eastern europe and asia they're reporting record sales

Middle Class is the working poor.

the lower middle class starts at an income range of $32k and on up to

look into the cap and trade bill, tell me where your energy comes from
and then tell me that you're not about to suffer a hardship due to
rising energy costs, politicians are good at speeches, we wouldn't
listen if they weren't, of course what they say doesnt mean they're
being up front, Obama said an increase in taxes on those that are
wealthy, but the cap and trade ensures we all eat the taxes for the
energy companies, rich, poor, middle class

Again, you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to health care.  There is DEFFINETLY a difference in treatment.  I've seen it over and over again.  I even had to take a patient back to the hospital 3 times in a day because they kept releasing him and giving him a prescription he couldn't afford instead of actual medicine (which they have given to other patients in the hospital via IV since they had insurance).

so what you're saying is that publicly funded hospitals blow donkey nuts
or is it that all hospitals are that way, with how vague you are in all

Yes, though patients are accepted based on necessity of treatment not order of arrival. If your sniffling plan on waiting a few hours at least.

no, they have free ER's for that. Those are generally crappy university charity hospitals, but if your condition is serious enough, they will hook you up with a much nicer charity hospital that can cover your needs, and I've qualified for free care too.  Now, there is tons of bitching I can do about the medical system, but at least I haven't been denied treatment. But I've also gotten emergency care at a pay-hospital, and as of yet have suffered no repercussions from not paying anything.

My patient needed an amputation and medicine, he didn't get any.  Also, the hospital is BOTH charity and privately owned.  That's an emergency last I checked.  There's just funny rules.  Technically, they can claim it isn't an emergency until youre about to code blue or code red.

A year ago people were crying that america would never elect a black president and they were completely wrong.  Now you are just trying to find another reason and excuse to project racism where it is not.  You are on a witch hunt for racists.

I do think calling everything racist does a disservice to that very way of thinking and stalls progress, on the other hand, white people are pretty blind to what really is racist.

Racism is an attitude, its not popular to be racist, so of course people will deny it, but the actions of people and the fact that just a little over 60 years ago we where South Africa without the Diamond mines shows me that you cant make THAT much change in that short time, and as I said before, it isnt like someone has to call you an ethnic slur to be racist.

bbl337, I have seen old ladies holding rags to their forehead while having to fill out paperwork. how does that make sense?

i was in there for somewhat less of an emergency, had my knee go out. i could have waited and did. thats understandable

but the situation i described above is ludicrous. also i have heard of people loosing use of their fingers because they could have gotten in 15 minutes earlier but had to fill out mind numbing paperwork.

GW bush was quoted as saying "just go to the emergency room" okay, great, i got the sniffles so im going to bog down an emergency room full of gunshot victims and people who chopped off half their hand on a tablesaw
