Shroomerites and Shroomereros,
I know how you guys like these Mexican threads.  Here are a couple of this years' finds.

Like  Alan says, there are usually multiple species growing together.  I think there are 3.Some of these were 10 inches(25 cm.) long.

Unidentified Psilocybe:

Zoom in on this one and check out the face!¿Where's Waldo?

Fuzzy stem:

Stay tuned,  Cactu stopped by for a night-time cell fone hunt and WOW!

Also, for those of you who asked for spore prints,  I am reluctant to send or carry things of that nature across international borders, sorry.

Nice shots~ I think I can see the face, just on the left side of the stem of the mushroom in the centre. Yes I am sober for now~

P. aztecorum

Found at 12,000 ft. on the Nevado de Toluca volcano:




Cactu was very excited.  We found hundreds.  I didn't have a camera, but I'm sure he'll be posting pics of our foray.

They look, taste, and smell surprisingly similar to cyans.  Chestnut brown, wavy caps.  But they dry to almost white, and love pine and fir wood.
Also, the habitat looks very similar to the Pacific Northwest.

Here's a couple of nice clustesr of P. caerulescens:


That about does it for this year's pictures.
The season is coming to an end here(kinda sick of the rain anyway). 
I found 3 new patches of actives and know how to identify a handful more edibles.
And, most imortantly, have greatly expanded my understanding of the required habitat of these gorgeous Mexican psilocybes.

May through October.  Longer and shorter in many places.

central Mexico is amazing , many micro climates and many sierra to look for  unbelievable
