ID request > thanks

Habitat: Found growing in dry dirt in back yard (rained night before)

Stem: was no stem,  looks like it has roots like a plant

Cap: good enough pics , cant really say much more

Spore print: dont think i can do one with this type

Bruising: n/a

Location: Picked in southern new england (north east usa)

smell: sort of like reg ol mushrooms  weak smell to me anyways

I'm not sure what the first picture is, possibly an amanita button. but the second picture is probably Scleroderma citrinum

yep that sounds right for the first,  and the 2nd might be a younger version of it,  i'm not sure.      Any takers?

Those are just pins. More mature specimen are needed to take a look at some other macroscopic features.

First is most likely a. rubescens or a. amerirubescens if you're from the US of A. 2nd pic is what Agent47 says it is: scleroderma citrinum. If you slice it, you'll see that the inside is purple with white netting if it's still young and greenish brown in older specimens.

I doubt if anyone will be able to give you an definite ID on the the first picture. A good course of action next time would be to water the button when needed, and see if it grows for further identification.
