What's the longest time you had anything in a FC untill first flush?

as ive posted many times, im still waiting for my mini monotub to fruit. its been in fruiting conditions for 16 days.

what the longest you have ever waited on cakes, a monotub, casing etc for them to develop pins once placed in fruiting conditions?

its happened to me b4 and its been at the longest:

cakes = over a month

mono = 2 weeks

Ive read in threads of some others random grows = over a month.

its possible to have myc that doesnt fruit, I personaly have never witnessed that but I read about it on here.:shrug:

try increasing the fae.. allow it a little bit of exposure to light also.. those are the most prevalent pinning triggers... although by the looks of it... it may need another week or so to finish colonizing..

the top one has a casing layer on it. at first it did not but i have very low humidity here, and no pins so i put the only thing i had, verm, all over thinly on the top. it was pasturized. it really helped the humidity.

otherwise both are WBS/Gypsum/Verm/coffee spawn bags spawned 2:1 (sub/spawn) to coir/gypsum/coffee/verm. the one on top is the only one with a "casing" layer. im worried that before i put it on it may have dried too much and that may be happening to my second one now...

they have one 18w CFL 5000K bulb in between them. a large fan a few feet away pulling in air from out side but not pointed at the tubs. then i have a coolmist humidifier sitting nearby. both mini tubs are in one big rubbermaid on its side in the closet. the humidifier sprays right into it. the door to the closet and the lid cover up one half of the container so there is not too much loss of humidity.

i have waited 3 weeks but all looks healthy still so i wouldn't worry much yet  just give them air and time

FULL colonization + 7 to 10 days for consolidation. I'm NOT bashing here, just reiterating how important this is...

I was just wondering cuz I put too much gypsum in one of my monos and it is going slow becaus it made my substrate hard.

i only let my first mono go for a few days. it looked like 100% but probably wasnt. however it still has been a long time. ill just keep waiting. i seem to post this question everyday. i just really want to munch some ya know?

mini #2 had plenty of time to colonize and consolidate. hopefully it will do better.

Yea, I was gonna say, I would give that second one more time to colonize.  When you introduce the tub to fruiting conditions too fast, you think your speeding the process up, but your actually slowing it down by making the mycelium colonize with fruiting conditions.  I wait until the substraite is completely white, and climbing up the sides before introducing to fruiting.

  When I fruit, I put it on 16 hours light.  I also fan the hell out of it, and lightly mist.  You should see knotting in a few days, and pins in about a week.  Once I see pins, I switch to 12 hours light.  Im not sure if the extra light actually helps start the pins, a buddy of mine gave me that advice.

i really thought i had given number 2 enough time. after number 1 i wanted to at least double the time...

well i am going to walmart (sorry america) right now to pic up what i need to get another one going. ughh.

Well, for some reason, I think the top colonizes faster.  I have had tubs that I took out after a flush to dunk, and some of the bottom wasnt colonized.  Like I said, if going uncased, you dont want to see any dark spots, just pure white.

12 days in the fc and its starting to pin elsewhere  so i say check humidity and fae. I do 12 hour light 12 hour dark of defused sunlight good luck.

well after unfortunatley being gone all weekend, i have returned. my tubs are drier than ever now. maybe this is good because it means a lot of water evaporated from the casing, pining trigger. or this is bad because,... its dry!

i sprayed a lot, refilled the dry humidifier and put new wax sheets down. should i go ahead and dunk the old mono tub?

dunk for about 4 hours in bath tub water, straight out of the faucet. clean it off a little, clean out the tub and then see if that does it? maybe the tub has been too dry all along (not surprising) and i simply have to dunk before a flush like with a pk cake.... yes the other problem is i didnt allow colonization to go for quite long enough

i have sooooo much myc and im watching all these people get mushrooms after just a few days and still nothing. nothing! ahhh!

I've waited three weeks...

It was uncased, then after three weeks I was like f**k this. I cased it with straight vermiculite and BOOM pins the next morning.

Funny things those fungi are, they are fun guys those fungi.
