Yeah, good point...
latin mass FTW. If you want to be a priest would be a reason.

I think you might need it to cast spells also.

Latin is used in science; Latin is used in Catholicism. What else is it used for?

Well not to mention the majority of English vocabulary is derived from Latin, some experts say more than sixty percent stems ultimately from Latin.

you also forgot Law and Philosophy.

One's knowledge of English is improved by knowing Latin. How is that only useful to Catholics and Scientists?

edit: Let's not forget all the Romance languages that are essentially mis-pronounced Latin: Catalan, French, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, Romansch, Provencal, Galician, Occitan, ET CETERA (which is Latin for "and the rest")

I underlined all the Latin derived words.

Yeah I would but knowing Latin is considered "nerdy" at best and, apparently, "useless" at worst.

LATIN WILL NEVER DIE! It has been the basis for languages worldwide. I took for years of Latin in high school and Etymology as well, and I find myself using words I learned in those classes to this day even.

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind"    -Gandhi

“I, as a responsible adult human being, will never concede the power to anyone to regulate my choice of what I put into my body, or where I go with my mind. From the skin inwards is my jurisdiction, is it not? I choose what may or may not cross that border. Here I am the customs agent. I am the coastguard. I am the sole legal and spiritual government of this territory, and only the laws I choose to enact within myself are applicable” - Alexander Shulgin

They are called languages because they  have evolved into something new. In Italy there is an area that speaks a unique form of greek that evolved from the original Athenian settlers, they are not mispronouncing anything, this is simply a Dialect of greek, just as the people in alabama sound different than those in Oregon. Both are most certainly considered English.

You should also know that Galician and catalan are both descendants of spanish... Latin came before spanish, so if anything they would be refereed to as  mispornounced spanish- but they are not.

Sure, latin has it's purposes. In England the only greek mythology class they have at universities would be based on reading the original language (for example.) Americans understate the value of most things intellectual, that exceed our geo-political boarders. Accept that.
