So whats everyone's favorite beer?

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some new beers to try, so I'm calling the shroomerites to recommend some beers!  I guess I'll get the train started, my favorite beer is Spaten Helles Lager from Germany.  A full-bodied, malty blonde beer that can still be chuggable at party-time at 5.5% alcohol, but still rich enough to drink slowly and savor.  Truly a beer that wears two hats.

So what are you guys drinking?

dubble basted  ale from stone brewery, san diego.  Hands down the best ale made in the USa.  Anything from cimmay is really good and of course delirium tremens and nocturuim.

The people that make Shiner Bock have been doing a sort of countdown to their 100th anniversary and for the last few years they release a new beer each year.  Shiner 96 came out in 2005, Shiner 97 in 2006, up to 100 which just came out this year.  It was pretty cool and fun to anticipate what they would make for the next year.  The beers are limited edition except for the 97 which proved so popular that they kept making it.

They've all been good, way better than regular Shiner, but the Shiner 99 that came out in 2008 was a Munich Helles Lager that was just wonderful and became bar none my favorite beer ever.  Unfortunately it wasn't super popular and was discontinued after the year was out.

I guess the moral of this story is: never buy a limited edition beer.  It will only break your heart.

I have never had a beer from stone that i did not like.  I think I have had every one too.  I actually got to meet the the owner and brew mister at a private beer tasting they did at my school ,I got to try some cellared aragont bastard from 04, and yes it was amazing. We tasted about 9-10 in total. As far as I am concerned they are the best brewery in north America.

I imagine that angels taste like ruination IPA. another great beer is the black butte porter from deschutes. new belgium also makes a black ale called 1552 that is amazing,

Doesn't new Belgium make a 1552 as well.  We cant forget about Fat Tire!

Besides Stone,
Brewery Ommegang from Cooperstown, NY
have an excellent line up of belgian style
ales.
Try Hennepin, it's a fantastic Saison.
Or the Three Philosophers, which is a
Quadrupel.:thumbup:

ommegang is excellent though I dont like the three Philosophers due to the fruit juice added to the beer.  I belive its cherry.

Unibroue is best in canada by far.  la fin dux monde is so dank

It is cherry, but I have some bottles cellared for over a year, and it seems
that the black cherry notes are completely
disappeared.
It's a great brew non-the-less.

I forgot about the great lakes brewery.  dortmunder gold is excellent and  the commodore perry ipa is good aswell
