BEER CAN CHICKEN ON THE BBQ. 1 whole chicken. One can of beer. Use a can opener to cut top off beer can. Fill can ? full with water, or beer. Throw in a slice of onion, a dash of garlic & couple tablespoons of your favorite BBQ sauce into the can. Trim off chicken wing tips, tail butt piece & surrounding fat. Insert ? full beer can into chickens body cavity, so it will stand upright. Place chicken on small saucer dish plate, or double folded aluminum foil 6 or 7 inch square. Sprinkle seasoning salt on outside of chicken. Place saucer dish or foil on pre/heated briquette BBQ grill. Stand chicken on saucer or foil. But the lid on the BBQ & cook 1.5 hours, to 2 hours. Towards end of cooking cycle, baste chicken with BBQ, or Teriyaki sauce. Remove chicken, pull out can, holding top with tongs (pierce can with paring knife over sink & pull down). Use kitchen shears to cut chicken in half, or quarters. For a gathering, cook several chickens at once. Beer can chicken goes great with garlic bread, cold slaw, red beans / rice & corn on the cob. Simple, inexpensive & great tasting.

yeah good stuff
I've found that running a can opener around the top of the can works great because you keep the strurdyness of the can that way

Beer can chicken was good until I read about steaming aluminum and cast paints infultrating your bird. There may be a better way of doing this, besides poisoning yourself, I'll do a look see and see what I can find.

Beer can chicken holder. You could put glasses in the holders and pour beer into the glasses. I've made beer can chicken a few times and its turned out great.

LOL......... I suppose you don't drink out of a CAN, or ever eat anything that came out of a CAN. Or, eat anything cooked in a METAL skillet, pan, or pot. Or baked on a METAL sheet, or cooked in a METAL OVEN............. Or eat BBQ anything, off a METAL BBQ.
Mellow out with a long pull, off a glass bong or pipe. Since you don't ever use a CAN. OoooH...BTW...... your car is made of METAL & about 200 other plastics, the vapors of which might comtaminate you.

Not just for taste, you can use water instead of beer. It keeps the chicken from drying out so it's nice and juicy. I'm not sure if there's a huge difference between beer and water, as I've only tried it with beer, but it always turns out GREAT for me.

Yup..... easy with water or beer. Water with lemon juice, or bbq sause, or whatever else you want to add. It ALWAYS turns out GREAT. Steamed from the inside & BBQ'ed on the outside.
