I understand, but inevitable dehydration would have led to mummification, which would have made all the joints and the skin stiff. Apparently, Itigelov never reached the state of a true 'stiff', so to speak.

Weren't there traces of opiates in Ramses' mummy? Or was it in one of the zillions of queens they'd dug up?

nah his hair was natural the egyptians didn't import many things from the Mesopotamian society and especially not the Indus Valley area where henna would have grown and in that area they didn't grow novelties like that really just necesities like metals/foods.

Quote:
Egyptians used a material called henna (used for nails and lips, too) to dye their hair red.  Scientific studies show that people used henna to conceal their gray hair from as early as 3400 BC. Henna is still used today. There is a body of evidence from paintings that depict the existence of people with red hair, such as the 18th Dynasty Hunutmehet. She had distinctive red hair mentioned by Grafton Smith.

They had it. They used it. However, Ramses just was a redhead, that's all. They existed back then as well.

So their hair was red because it was died with henna, and the proof that they used henna is that they had red hair?

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't have had access to some kind of dye, but I'm not all that informed on the subject, it would really just be a guess on my part.

No, Ramses happened to be a natural redhead, but some other royal mummies definitely have henna-dyed hair and additional evidence of the Egyptians having access to henna is available.

Of course there is, though sometimes the proper cause isn't known until much later.

Behind every miracle is our need to obfuscate our lack of understanding by attributing the phenomenon in question to an entity that we conjured up for the purpose.
